Nevada’s Dramatic Expansion Of Background Checks Creating Confusion

A1F: On Nov. 8, Nevada voters voted to dramatically expand background checks to cover every private gun sale. The measure, passed by the narrowest of margins, was backed by $19 million in out-of-state money from Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown For Gun Safety, but the majority of local law enforcement opposed it. Now, confused gun store owners are demonstrating why. more

  1. How can this New York city commie
rat fu*K weasel spend 19m$ in a state
he doesn’t even live in? Why is he not
in jail? The people of Nevada should decide
the laws of their state.Lobbying for any
reason domestic or foreign should be strictly
outlawed.I guess that’s the reason our congress
critters like to stay in their positions for years & years…

  2. What riverlife_callie said.

Also, I wish the state officials would watch the voting process as closely as the casinos watch for cheaters. They bussed in illegals from all over the place to vote in Las Vegas.

  3. UNK AL,
No Sir.The bad guy buys his ammo
at 3 dollars a round from gang members that
drive it in from another state.A new biz
opportunity for gang members in many states.
You have to pass a “background” check first.
    1 felony min. to purchase.

  4. “Didn’t California just pass background checks for ammunition? Does that mean the bad guy I want to shoot has to pass, too?”

I spoke with a contact I have at CalDoj a couple weeks back inquiring how we, as a manufacturer get ammo. All the crap in the law addresses Brick and Mortar gun stores. She told me every manager at CalDoj told them “Don’t do it. It can’t me managed, it can’t be policed, and it won’t be enforced”. Then she tells me that the politicians are asking them to tie in the registered gun data base to ammo purchases. In other words if you have an old unregistered bolt gun in say .220 Swift but don’t have a gun in the caliber registered in your name, no blamunition until you register the weapon. This request came well after the bill was signed into law. So I guess these jack asses figure they can do what ever they want when they want.

  5. @Stupidicuss:

Boomblerg is way past due for his dirt nap.

Yes, indeed, and preferably something natural and painful, like flesh-eating bacteria or peritonitis from a fish bone.

I really should be ashamed of myself.

  6. BEG- Yeah. We used to have fiscally conservative Libertarians here. Now they’re only interested in weed and ‘staying home’ during the elections as a protest. I guess to smoke weed. I don’t know what happened to those guys.

  7. MJA, we lost the assembly and the senate this year, and Hardy and Heck are also out. Makes me absolutely sick. What’s left of the “real” Nevada doesn’t have enough population collectively to carry federal elections. I can’t imagine what’s going to happen in two years with the constitutional offices up for re-election.
