Lawyers Donate Millions in Pro-Bono Work to Help Gun Controllers

Breitbart: On December 7, the New York Times made two things clear: 1. Gun controllers are losing, as exemplified by Donald Trump’s win; 2. Corporate lawyers are coming to their rescue, donating “tens of millions” of dollars worth of pro-bono work to said groups in order to help fight Trump’s pro-gun push.

Teams of corporate lawyers began working for gun controllers in a somewhat unorganized manner after the June 12 Orlando Pulse attack failed to garner any gun control traction. The teams of lawyers were not united, rather, “they worked largely on their own,” the NYTreports. Now they are unifying in hopes of halting the momentum of pro-Second Amendment advocates while simultaneously helping gun controllers secure some of their agenda.  more

  1. Not trying to draw a parallel, here, but it is kinda funny, and maybe not so much a coincidence, that most of Hitler’s top guys in the Party and in the Einsatzgruppen were lawyers.

Yep. You could look it up.
    (some “doctors,” too)

And no, I’m not implying that all lawyers are National Socialists … more to the effect that most (or, at least, a lot of) lawyers are opportunists.

    izlamo delenda est …

  2. Ambulance chasers = attorneys at law. They continue to develop new ways to look bad. Attacking the Second Amendment Constitutional right is so en vogue….NOT! See how well that worked for you Nov 8th? Anything for a buck. New add to the Swamp for Drainage controls.

  3. @majorityofone: A lot of people use that quote to demonstrate Shakespeare’s dislike of lawyers, but that is a misconception. Shakespeare’s exact line “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers,” was stated by Dick the Butcher in Henry VI, Part II, act IV, Scene II, Line 73. Dick the Butcher was a follower of the rebel Jack Cade, who thought that if he destroyed law and order, he could become King. Shakespeare meant it as a compliment to attorneys and judges who instill justice in society.

  4. Dear Lawyers,
Fine. Continue to donate uncounted hours of your million dollar time. You’re still “on the wrong side of history”, if I have the current vernacular correct. You will lose accordingly.
