An article at SportingNews.com warns the National Football League not to ignore the growing number of NFL fans who have checked out over the constant anti-American protests indulged by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players.
In his December 13th piece, Sporting News writer Michael McCarthy highlights fans who have grown sick and tired of the anti-Americanism infesting their national pastime.
“This has left such a bad taste in my mouth,” one 46-year-old elementary school teacher and now former football fan told McCarthy. “I don’t know if I can ever forgive them to tell you the truth. I don’t know if I’ll get the opportunity to find out. But it’s not looking good. They may have lost a fan for life.”
But when a catcher for the Seattle Mariners makes a conservative leaning tweet — on his Twitter account, not doing anything at a game — he gets suspended for the rest of the season and his career is in jeopardy because “we are not political.” No, it was not a “we don’t do that here, so don’t do it again,” he was suspended with the strong hint of being dumped.
Granted, MLB is not the NFL, but why is it that when someone is cracked down on, it tends to be conservatives while libs continue to get free reign?
I remain a “former” NFL fan who watched most games.
No longer. The problems with the NFL are greater than just the arrogant, hypocritical, anti-American antics of Kaepernick.
One of the worst violators of this disrespect of America is the entire Seattle Seahawks team. During the national anthem they all stand and lock arms in a show of unity. What is not reported is what they are in unity about. It turns out they are in unity and in support of all the social justice warriors out there. As a team full of oppressed millionaires they would like to take a stand and fix what is wrong in this country. What a bunch of assholes!
I must admit to watching a few games this year but i have not bought any nfl gear. Not since 1998 when Randy Moss was a big deal. Still have the shirt.
@Joe: The “message” from the Seahawks is ambiguous at best, here it is:

But they ARE standing, at attention during the anthem, so I see no disrespect.
Colon Paperback can go piss up a rope, and the NFL can go with him since they haven’t done shit about the worthless prick.
Colon Paperdick. God, how I hate autocorrect!
I refuse to support any major league sports but hockey until they change their racist ways and implement an affirmative action policy to overcome the dominance of blacks in sports. Black should only account for 14% of the players to achieve an appropriate racial mix.
@ joe6pak
Yup! Bullshit-commie-pinko-fag-bedwetters, and a buncha whiners. I have a neighbor that defends them. Fuck that.
@Txn4Evr- don’t you know that “white men can’t jump?”
this may sound racist and it’s not meant to be but there is something in the black persons blood-system that makes them jump higher-run faster- leap over tall buildings with a single bound- and then do some funky chicken dance in the end-zone. 🙂
you should have identified him as Colin kaepernick, quarterback of the 1-12 SF fortyniners.
Just Pass’n–Decades ago, a guy called Jimmy the Greek had his reputation destroyed and lost his job when he explained why blacks were so good at sports: Basically, he stated that slave owners used selective breeding (biggest, strongest women with the biggest, strongest men) to create better workers for the fields. He was pretty much telling the truth, but as usual the blacks and DWLs went nuts. This was the late 70s IIRC, and was one of the precursors of today’s PC culture. It has only gotten worse.
I was so disappointed in the Seattle Seahawks embracing each other in a circle (jerk) that I didn’t watch them this year. Tell me, Does Coach Pete Carroll honor our flag or his he another disappointment, too.
Many Americans are true Patriots and honor our flag. I hope TV ratings continue going down hill and they sponsors who pay huge sums bow out. Football has become and entertainment, not a sporting event.
Never in my 72 years have I seen such disrespect for our flag and anthem. From boys who are payed millions to play a kid’s game.
