Remember back in mid-November when fashion designers were lining up to say they had no plans to dress incoming First Lady Melania Trump?
It all began with a butt-hurt open letter screed from designer Sophie Theallet. [I wrote about it HERE]
Sophie is the fashion genius behind this seizure-inducing frock:
And she doesn’t want to dress Melania.
Thank heaven for that!
Soon other big-name designers like Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs followed suit.
Whelp, the best laid plans…
According to Jean Shafiroff, a socialite who is part of the New York fashion community, not all designers have hopped aboard the “Don’t Dress Melania” butt-hurt bandwagon.
In fact, quite a few are eager to have this lovely, poised and elegant woman don their creations.

Gads, that Gulag’ link to Sophie’s garbage reminded of the designer contest program, in which the contestants had to design clothing from garbage. That one black model, (slide 8 & 9) was a man, I swear. Must have been the clincher for Michelle’s choices.
Melania’s a stunner in any crowd. I hope to god the Wookie will be in the news less now that they’re expunged.

Big Maw’s dress reminds me of the LSD-inspired combination of Art Nouveau and Op Art from the early 70s.
Melania would look good in a potato sack. Mooch is pear-shaped, droopy-boobed, hugely assed, linebacker shouldered, missing link postured, bow-legged and with a mysterious cod-piece looking protrusion in its crotch area. Mooch makes any dress “she” wears look like a sack of potatoes.
Bet Ford and Jacobs and their ilk are kicking themselves in the ass for shooting off their mouths (must be a Meryl Streep thing) to hear that other big name competitors are chomping at the bit to design for her. Not because they make a lot of money off one time designer stuff but because the better known and better shown designers make lottsa dough off their ready to wear collections. I mean millions upon millions. It’s not inconceivable that by next year you’ll see the counter space (Macy’s, JC Penney, Bloomingdales and the like) allocated to Ford and Jacobs et al being reduced and given over to the designers of Melania’s garb and once that space is lost…..
