Rand Paul: ‘We’re Very Lucky John McCain Is Not in Charge’

Breitbart: Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) addressed Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) criticism of the Trump administration.

Partial transcript as follows:

KARL: And I think it’s fair to say that you are second to none in the Senate when it comes to fighting for civil liberties. So let me ask you about specifically what he’s saying about the press. He is saying now that the news media is the enemy of the American people. Do you agree with that?

PAUL: It’s not something that I would say. I would say that there is bias. And I think it’s fair to point out that there is bias in the media on both sides, both right and left. And that it’s very hard to find objective news because we have gotten, particularly as you watch cable news, it’s so dominated by opinion. And we are more polarized. And some of that comes from the people and some of that comes from the media. But I would say that I don’t see in his criticism, somehow, people think that the separation of powers means that the president can’t criticize the judiciary. No, it has nothing to do with that. That’s more sort of political sensibilities but has nothing to do with the Constitution or separation of powers. We don’t like it when they see it sort of treads on things. But the separation of powers is about legislative powers. It isn’t about discussion or words. So I would separate, once again, words from actual real legislative action. If someone tries to put limits on the press, I’ll be the first one standing up for the right of press, left and right, to continue saying and being part of the discussion and forwarding the discussion.

KARL: What would you make of McCain’s statement that we’re creeping towards a situation where people are potentially supportive of dictatorship in this country? Is that over the top or is there a concern?

PAUL: I think Senator McCain’s perspective is colored by his disagreements with President Trump on foreign policy. If I were to look at foreign policy, I would say John McCain has been wrong on just about everything over the last four decades.

  1. McCain is thin-skinned,vindictive and McCain is only loyal to McCain. He uses his military service as a shield to deflect his incompetence. When party unity is required, he plays the maverick. We can’t get rid of him fast enough.

“He uses his military service as a shield to deflect his incompetence.”

Which only works as long as people treat “veteran” as a magic incantation like “racist.”

  3. Do make note of the Players going on air kissing Press ass over the next few days.

Will be very indicative of the Whose Who List.

How many decks of ‘Enemies Of America’ playing cards will be created?

  4. When I was about ten, in the mid ’50s, I asked my dad why he read so many newspapers and magazines. He said it was the only way he could get all sides of a story and then make his own opinion.

The Monsters of MSM and Congress, are what they are because we have allowed them. Lazy information seekers and lazy voters.

The power is and always had been our choice, in America. We have allowed these entities to assume their power, with the expense of suppression of our freedom.

Is it any wonder that they are in shock and fighting against the PEOPLE’S choice? They threw every dirty trick against President Trump and FAILED. No one likes to have the rug jerked out from under their feet.

McCain’s fear of his inability to hide the truths of his history cause him to act as what many regard as a traitor, now.

Acting as a ‘loyal’ opposition DOES NOT allow bashing the president, to the world, in a foreign country, ESPECIALLY with allusions to a Hitler assassin!!!

    Best gifts from President Trump:

-We CAN say ‘bullshit’ to MSM
    -We
    CAN vote with knowledge
-We CAN put our country first

But don’t think progressives are dead. They have been following their plan since at least the 1920s. They don’t die, they simply regroup and take advantage of the progressive IEDs they implant each time they are in power. People like McCain are tools, paid for, blackmailed or bribed with power promises.

That ‘old soldier’ isn’t fading away, he’s erasing himself to irrelevance.

  5. Mojo, my Dad read so much so he could ignore us kids and my Mom for a few minutes.
The news in this country has never been fair, unbiased, strictly factual. Never. The meme has been since the ’60s that reporters and publishers are ‘for the people’ and ‘the truth’. Their truth, only their truth, is more like it. I quit reading the paper when the editorials took over the front page, masquerading as facts.

  6. I linked this on an earlier thread and I had a little different point I was trying to make. It’s YUGE have Rand Paul on the Trump Train. Arguably the strongest Constitutional Rep in Washington. Plus he has the ear of a LOT of young libertarians. Plus he’s not a damn attorney and does come from the Medical field. Could be a big help trying to hit the big delete button on Obamacare.

  7. What! After all these years and much public exposure, people are still surprised to find out that the Savings and Loan crook is a painful disease posing as a snake oil cure!
