“(And don’t it seem like)
Kicks just keep gettin’ harder to find
(Oh, you don’t need kicks, girl)
And all your kicks ain’t bringin’ you peace of mind
(You just need help, girl)
Before you find out it’s too late, girl
You better get straight”

Most people think that when Paul Revere reported to George Washington he said, “The British are coming!”, but this is inaccurate. What he actually said was, “The British are coming across the river!”.
To which George replied, “THIS I gotta see!”
😉
He was also a Freemason like most of the other founding fathers. You can thank Freemasonry for many of our rights being recognized in the Constitution.
He became Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts in 1797.

He was also a dentist! Here’s an interesting story about his dentistry and another GM of Mass, General and Doctor Joseph Warren, who sent Paul Revere on the midnight ride.

Government is the servant, and not the master, of men.
A better, and also short, article about Revere:

He could do more than ride a horse and shout at the same time. A truly great and good man, he was.
a great book to read about Revere is ‘Paul Revere’s Ride’ by David Fisher https://www.amazon.com/Paul-Reveres-David-Hackett-Fischer/dp/0195098315 … a very detailed read, in layman’s terms, about the events leading up to Revere’s ride & it’s aftermath at Lexington & Concord … good maps w/ detailed explanations … Revolutionary Boston was nothing like it is today
I do know one thing, his first wife died leaving him with several children. He remarried and had more kiddies. Most of them slept outside in a lean to. We visited his house when touring Boston In October 2016. Visited the church where the lantern was hung in the tower. It was his scoundrel friend who hung the lantern. Paul was already several hours ahead of the British. The British knocked down the doors to the church but Pauls scoundrel friend climbed out the window. He ran home, and jumped in bed. They went to his house and hauled him off to jail. They couldn’t prove that it was him who hung the lantern so they had to let him go. We took one of those walking tours – it was quite enlightening to hear all the trivia and setting the record straight.
BTW, Paul Revere’s poem – we had to memorize and recite it in the 5th grade. Bet no student today even knows who Paul Revere is and was.
Yeah man, he invented copper clad cook pots. Very popular in the 60’s.
Damn good silver trays too.
Uncanny!
I just read this today:

Another story with Paul Revere, this time, being shown in a poor light.
He was eventually exonerated, though.
Even back then, there was FAKE NEWS.
