Kasich: GOP Should Side With Dems To Stop Conservatives

DC: Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a stalwart supporter of Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion, thinks the congressional effort to repeal the health care law needs to shift left to court Democrats instead of conservative members of the GOP.

Kasich was the first Republican governor to expand Medicaid in his own state and is vocally pushing Congress to preserve the extra federal funding for broadened Medicaid eligibility during Obamacare repeal.

“There’s going to be a problem in the House of getting anything out of there that still provides coverage to people,” Kasich said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “That’s why the Republicans have to reach out to some of the Democrats. I don’t know whether this is going to happen.”

  1. It occurs to me that there is a commonality among RINOs that has been overlooked. They possess the same characteristic of being too lazy or intelligent enough to do the job they were elected to do; going after lofo’s on the appeal of emotion is so much easier.

  2. Obama picked up the tab (via confiscated taxpayer wages) for expanded Medicaid by the states for the first years as an incentive to hook them. The fed stops footing the bill in 2018.

Kasich and every other governor knew this. The states can’t possibly pick up the tab for all the able bodied, childless drug addicts Obamacare put on Medicaid so they’ll be demanding single payer to bail them out.

They’ll be demanding single payer to bail them out with Kasich taking the lead.

The few remaining Democrat governors loudly condemned Trump’s plan to block grant the Medicaid money to the states and let them be responsible for the amount of care and types of individuals who get it. Wonder why they’d be upset with more power at the state level?

  3. I hear his nails digging deep, as he sinks into hell. Desperate to not be forgotten, he and McCain sputter as they go into oblivion

Their soundsremind me of when you used to turn off the car and it would spit, splutter, surge and then die. Going, going, just get the hell gone!

  4. Scumbag Bush, Ryan,Kasich, Mconell. There is no Republican Party. Its all a crap shoot on that side. Choose the person not the party. Just never choose a rat scumbag demoRat.

  5. So, if the NFC sides with the AFC against the NFL, the fans will start showering everybody with moar riches? Again? This Mr. Kasich should be put in charge of something. Something big.

  6. Many years ago when JK was in congress I thought he was a good guy.
When he became gov of Ohio I thought it was a good thing.
I soon learned my brother, who lives in Ohio, despises JK. Which surprised me.
But since learning that – the reasons why he hates JK keep piling up, becoming more obvious.

  7. from flip:
    “Ohio, your ass is showing.”

I am ashamed of my governor. I voted for this prick. Live and learn.

Me too flip. The alternative was a hell of a lot worse. He needs to retire and move to Sweden.
That Medicaid expansion he shoved through against the will of the voters in Ohio. A pox on him. May he have chronic unrelenting anal itch for the rest of his life.
