Fox News Cancels ‘Red Eye’

Breitbart:

Fox News Channel has canceled its long-running late-night news program Red Eye.

According to AdWeek‘s TVNewser, which first broke the news, the last episode of Red Eye will air Friday, April 7 at 3 a.m.

The irreverent news program with the dead-of-night timeslot launched in 2007 with host Greg Gutfeld, who left the show in 2015.

Breitbart News founder Andrew Breitbart played a pivotal role in Red Eye‘s inception. Breitbart was a frequent guest on the program, which also regularly featured Gutfeld’s “repulsive sidekick” Bill Schulz, “ombudsman” Andy Levy and Tom Shillue, who became permanent host of the show in 2015.

  1. I thought of it as brown eye, the whole
show sucked. I’m seven hours left of kommipornia
so that was on in the evenings here. I’ve given
    up on Faux News altogether.

  2. I used to watch it every night when Gutfeld hosted. His tone seemed to change after his mother died and then he left not too long after.

The great thing back in the day was the wide assortment of people they would have come on.

Once they settled into a rut with regulars like Nosuchinsky, Tyree, and the nonoffensive comedic stylings of Tom Shillue, all those DVR recordings just got deleted without ever being watched.

None of those could hold a candle to an evening with McGinness, Breitbart, and Gwar.

  3. Still seems a bit of a shame, even if I do agree w/ the criticisms posted. Red Eye is just a staple show, I used to watch it all the time when I was a teen ager. This a bit depressing, besides, what else are they going to replace it with?

  4. I was and am a dedicated viewer, even as it got stall after Gutfeld left. I have my doubts they are going to replace it with anything better, but we’ll see.

  5. Dammit. I liked that show. Lots of smartass, hilariously funny bits where they’d tear the latest Leftist-Asshole-Du-Jour a new asshole, night after night. Gutfeld was my hero.
