39 Comments on Bill O’Reilly Responds To Being Let Go By Fox News

  1. This is as much on FNC as it is on him – $13 million paid out over the years for “bogus claims”? If they really are bogus, then you crush the first claimant – if not bogus, then you fire O’Reilly the second time it happens

  2. Moral of the story: don’t show any interest whatsoever in the barbie doll prima donna little perfumed miniskirted money sucking molls! In other words, do a PENCE!

  3. Bill O’really? The guy who can’t opine without his finger stuck up in the air to test wind direction? I despise him for that alone. He can’t function without sticking his finger where it isn’t welcome. I know. I know. I’m tired and that’s the best I could do.

  4. Excellent move by Fox News to have Dana Perino ‘guest host’ on ‘The Factor’ tonight. She’s a PR pro, and a smart woman who wouldn’t put up with Bill’s crap, and maybe some people who tuned in tonight just to watch his demise won’t realize the show used to (until yesterday) be called ‘The O’Reilly Factor.’ But the Juxtaposition Award for the evening goes to the ad manager who scheduled the ad for the HURRICANE SPIN SCRUBBER just prior to the vague ThankYouBillAndGoodBye sign off segment. Seriously, I have the screen shot: spinscrubber.com. Just $39.95. Seriously: sponsoring the ‘No Spin Zone.’ If only the Murdoch family could get this network scrubbed clean for such a low price. Order now and get two for the price of one… Roger Ailes and Bill O’Riley. Make amends and bring back Andrea Tantaros and Juliette Huddy and maybe I’ll tune in again… So tired of powerful dirty bastards pretending to ‘look out for the folks’ while just being powerful dirty bastards and playing into the story line of the liberal dirty bastards…

  5. Bill pissed me off and sometimes I liked him.
Wasn’t there, so I have no opinion about the ‘harassment’.
    But firing the top dog?
If the left think they won something, now they have Tucker to deal with.
Like out of the frying pan, into the fire

  6. dunh dunh dunh…another one bites the dust….and dunh dunh dunh…..another one bites the dust…..and another one gone and another one gone…another one bites the dust….poof….GONNA GET YOU TOO ….another one bites the dust….dah dunh dunh dunh….

so you didn’t “like” orielly?….who DO you like, then?….cause of, they are next on the list…..

dunh dunh dunh….GONNA GET YOU TOO….another one bites the dust…..

yeah, celebrate……he was too “highbrow” or whatever….but he was one of OURS, and they took his scalp….and you all seem to enjoy that……

dunh dunh dunh GONNA GET YOU TOO…….

yes…..they are coming for you…..and because you refuse to protect your own, you will be left to the fate of neimoller’s poem…

….and when they came for me……..dunh dunh dunh

  7. i apparently overestimated the average iq of iotw commenters….my bad…..

if you can’t see that this is a BAD THING, if you don’t realize the immense LOSS the conservative cause has suffered by the removal of mr oreilly, like him or not……

i just don’t know what to say……he was limbaugh level on television……..THINK WHAT THAT MEANS……

it’s like they took limbaugh off the radio…..how happy would you be about THAT????

how, exactly, is “good morning (insert name here), you are HOT CHOCOLATE today”….sexual harassment?…when did she file a complaint?…i mean, she seems to be saying it’s been going on forever…….

many times, when i was walking down the street, some guys in a car would make wolf whistles at me, and call me a “hot thing” or a “foxy lady”…..if i could track them down, should they lose their jobs too????

and yes, i was a HOT THING, and proud of it…..i hated it when i went from a “honey” to a “ma’am”…….

but i’m not about to sue anyone or try to take their job from them….yall are all almost as bad as the offended snowflakes….

try not to imitate them, okay???

  8. I can see Bill was groping for the right words to express his disappointment.

I’m sure that he will be able to fondle – I mean, handle – his current problems and I’m sure even his detractors will be touched by his efforts to better himself.

  9. As far as I could tell, The O’Reilly Factor was a nightly infomercial for his books and speaking tours. Anyone ever notice how he managed to always find a more interesting Factor guest like Dennis Miller to do those speaking tours? I don’t think he ever did them alone. I won’t miss him because “Factor Word of the Day: Bloviating. No one is a better at bloviating than Bill O’Reilly.”

  10. Someone over at Breitbart claims Soros et al is behind the BillO smear. Didn’t read the article, but I wouldn’t put it past OOOOOLD Georgey to be a part of this (hurry up and just die, you evil thing!).

  11. Welcome to the coup. Progressives could not win at the ballot box so now they will use the media management to slowly and methodically silence any and eventually all opposition to the progressive agenda.

  12. like him or hate him, it’s a sad day for conservative media…the libs keep picking away at fox news (and don’t doubt soros and his bunch are in the background…pushing)

  13. “… $13 million paid out over the years for “bogus claims” …”

Chump change compared to what they were bringing in.

Did he rape anyone as did Bill Cosby?
Did he rape, assault, and batter anyone as did Bill Clinton?
Did he murder his and his brothers’ sexual playtoy as did Ted Kennedy?
Did he have inconvenient “homosexual lovers” killed as did Obola?
Did he extort pussy from his interns as did Letterman?

Let’s keep it in perspective, people.

    izlamo delenda est …

  14. I cannot believe what I have been reading. The left has won again. And to think Maxine Waters with her stupid wig, or that insufferable bitch Christine Powers who thought she was so much better than anyone were complicit just makes me furious. Now I read all these comments and I cannot believe what I’m reading. Fox is my news source and shall remain as such, I didn’t always agree with Bill but I did think he was totally fair. And now to find most of you IOTW readers agree with George Soros et al………… gasp gasp…….. the political take down of religion and politics is damn scary………… I feel so alone

  15. O’Reilly stopped being objective or interesting as soon as Obama’s 2nd term began. He started kissing the behind of every ‘moderate’ individual who criticized him, he started writing books that had numerous factual errors, his ego became ever more enormous with each ‘killing’ book he released.
But what really sunk him in my esteem (aside from the sexual harassment allegations over the years, some of them rather credible), was the HORRID and outright blasphemous depiction of Jesus Christ in his stupid ‘killing’ Jesus movie. Where Jesus was not only played by a Muslim, but it was made to look like Jesus just got lucky a lot, didn’t ever preform any miracles (Simon and John were just fanatic apparently), and Jesus second guessed himself, God and like, everything. I had never seen such a negative and dare I say, EVIL depiction of Jesus in my entire life. Needless to say, in his attempt to appease moderate people and liberals, he offended God Himself. I’d say that Bill O’Reilly has reaped what he has sown. Letterman hypocrisy or no.

  16. IDK if many of you remember what network news was pre-1996. The big three and CNN. That was it. zzzzzzzzz. They would have called Clinton a god, but that would invoke all that icky religious stuff, so he was just coronated. Go back to sleep.*

FNC came on the scene and it was a breath of fresh air. Finally, there were people to actually report on who was doing what. To speak to all the people – the backbone of America, really – the MBM ignored. O’Reilly soon turned into a massive draw for obvious reasons.

Now, I agree that over the years, he became trite, a bit grasping, revealed to be very egocentric and not a little tiresome. Watching him interview preezy really demonstrated his shift from solid conservative principles to it’s-just-business, because he didn’t really take after him like he once did Clinton and crew. It sealed my opinion of him as mainly opportunistic.

I don’t dismiss the harrasment settlement, but I don’t give them the weight his enemies want to shovel over him; funny that we don’t hear of similar settlements from other media types much. And settling isn’t that unusual. Deep pockets are irresistible bait.

I really stopped watching him years ago too, but I cannot consider this a good thing. Who said upthread he’s been the Limbaugh of TV – well stated. Progs hammered the advertisers and they won. Much like Target lost, but you’d never really know it for all the common man in the street opinions, and those progs will be even more insufferable. I sincerely hope Fox will find as good or better talent (that won’t go South or shift away from principles like he did) to replace him. He had a huge audience.

*Going back to sleep has become Fox’s schtick in so many ways also. News can only be masticated so much in the 24hour cycle. Fox Business is what I personally prefer anymore, if I watch at all. I do like Carlson a lot – he’s very prepared and highlights the blinding hypocricy.

  17. Look at the bright side – O’Reilly being gone negates his opportunities of dogging Trump through being “fair & balanced”.

Kind of the opposite of when Obama was in office and O’Reilly DIDN’T utilize his pulpit to castrate the bastard, Obama due to always being “fair & balanced”.

They say that ‘perfection’ is the enemy of ‘good’. If that’s the case, then ‘fair’ is the enemy of ‘righteousness’.

“fair” is a Liberal term created by panty-waists to use against, and destroy competition of the righteous meritocracy.

Think of the Bell Curve ideology – dummies love this because it steals from the studied individual to carry the dumbass over the finish line.

O’Reilly could have used his position to remove Obama within the first 4 years, but being a fence-sitter only interested in promoting himself through his books, he kept maintaining an atmosphere of reasonable doubt – which allowed the long-legged mac daddy to steal 8 years of our lives, and destroy 200+ years of freedom-based history.

  18. I am disturbed, concerned and saddened by the ouster of O’Reilly. And surprised by the comments I read here.
I never watched Bill O’Reilly because I liked his ties, his manners, or his co-workers. I watched Bill O’Reilly because whether I agreed with him or not, he had appendages…big ones…to say what he thought, sometimes talking over someone else, yes. But it was his ball court. And he had the ball.

The silencing of any voice in the political arena, whether it was a “rude” voice or not, is a blow to our side,
certainly not to be celebrated. This is not a warm and fuzzy battle in which we are engaged. It is not a place
    for warm and fuzzy leaders.

It’s war. And we just took a hit.
