NTK: An on-flight laptop ban has already been put in place for 10 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, but that could be expanding.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is currently weighing an expansion of its ban on carry-on laptops on international flights to include flights that originate in Europe, according to a CNN report.
The current ban includes 10 countries from the Middle East and North Africa, but the Trump administration appears to be worried about the possibility of terrorists boarding in Europe.
Security officials have been worried for some time about terrorists’ ability to hide explosives in the batteries of laptops, CNN’s René Marsh reported.
“This ban [in Europe] is going to happen,” Marsh said.
The only continuing debate at DHS was “whether to institute the ban at select airports in Europe or across the board,” Marsh added. MORE

the problem isn’t laptops it’s muslims. Deport all muslims out of the West and our ‘terror’ problems are pretty much solved. We could also end our foolish military Peace Corps-type incursions into every sand hole on the other side of the world but that would be too prudent b/c we get the ‘gotta fight ’em over there or over here’ lie.
We know from our (NSA) own hi-jacking of Malaysian Air 370 that a laptop and the codes are all that are required to commandeer a plane in flight.
