  1. Not an easy journey through rehab for this bloke and not, sure removing the big toe was the right choice. Big toe is major player in walking and running . I’d rather walk than grasp things. And I’m not talking grasping concepts or arguments on policy.

I’m just not sure about this decision.

  2. I recall that the same thing happened to legendary fighter pilot Joe ‘Hoser’ Satrapa. he was stationed at NSAWC in Nevada doing some development to improve the M61 Vulcan round 20mm, there was a malfunction, it went off, blew his thumb off. To keep his flight status, the medics took one of his big toes and sewed it in place of his thumb, but it didn’t take, so they took the other one, that one took. He kept his flight status, they tried changing his call sign to ‘Toeser’ but that didn’t take.

  3. One of my Dad’s friends shredded his thumb in a table saw – they used his second-to-big toe to replace it.
Worked well enough afterward to manipulate his Zippo lighter with.
That was probably around 50 years ago.
