AZ: Phoenix PD’s Sanctuary City Proposal Could Trigger Spike in Violence, Say Officers

Breitbart:

PHOENIX, Arizona –The recent revelation that City of Phoenix Police Department is planning a return to a restrictive policy that would limit officers from contacting immigration authorities has raised red flags among active and retired law enforcement who worked during a time when a similar measure led to a dramatic spike in violence.

Phoenix Police is working in making changes to their current operational procedure for officers, Breitbart Texas reported. The new changes to the policy would force officers to get permission from supervisors before contacting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in dealing with suspects, victims, or witnesses who may be in the country illegally.

Phoenix has always had a large Latino population, primarily due to its proximity to the Mexican border, as well as plentiful jobs and affordable housing. What Phoenix did not have was at one time was a big city homicide problem.  read more

  1. If I understand the article correctly the solution to the illegal immigrant/drug cartel connection is to ignore it? I’m probably reading it wrong but it sure sounds like when the US is finally going to start enforcing the border the cops are worried that the illegals and cartels are burrowed so deep into Phoenix that when the PD starts to enforce bloodshed will rise. That’s not good enough. I know that’s easy for me to say because I’m not a cop on the street but I suspect that the cops can get help from the Feds who would be more then happy to pitch in. If someone is found to be illegal they need to be arrested, jailed, their family (if any) reviewed for their status, put in front of a Judge for a sentence (expulsion), an appeal and the sentence executed within 24 hours, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Their belongings will be sent to them if they provide an address and it’s an easy ship. If not (furniture, house, car) it will be liquidated by professionals (who would be frequently audited to ensure no fraud) and after government expenses the proceeds will be sent on to the formerly illegal in their new abode. Maybe then a black American youth finds that he has a job that may not pay a lot but gets him on the ladder.
