Missouri AG Forms an Exploratory Committee to Run Against McCaskill in 2018

NTK: Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley will be launching an exploratory committee this week, taking the first step in challenging Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) who is up for reelection in 2018.

Hawley is a political newcomer who won his first election in November, but that didn’t stop top Republicans, including Vice President Mike Pence, to call on Hawley to run against McCaskill.

The Associated Press reported that “former Missouri Sen. John Danforth and prominent donor David Humphreys are among several high-profile Republicans who in April released a public letter encouraging Hawley. read more

  1. Yes he is a lawyer but if it is a choice between a soulless ghoul who feasts upon murdered babies and a lawyer who self identifies with the GOP I’ll actually take the lawyer.

  2. I live in MO, and like Hawley fine, but I’m not sure about the wisdom of running a guy who JUST got elected into his position into a new one. What about doing the job you were voted in for, first?

    MO is ripe for the picking, there wasn’t a SINGLE Dem who one a statewide race in 2017. Good-bye, Claire!

  3. I like Hawley’s stated positions.

    As I said earlier, I’d vote for a run-over armadillo before I’d vote for McCaskill, and that was NO joke.

    I voted for Hawley in November, and I’ll support him against McCaskill.
