Canada’s ‘Free’ Health Care System Is Exploding

“Health care in Canada isn’t free—Canadians actually pay a substantial amount for health care through their taxes, even if they don’t pay directly for medical services,” said Bacchus Barua, senior economist with the Fraser Institute’s Centre for Health Policy Studies, in a statement.

Meanwhile, Canada’s ‘Free’ Health Care System Is Also Exploding

  1. Paying for all of Pierre’s guests, who never paid anything into the system will put it on “overload”. Even a knucklehead like the PM should have known. Nice work, Froggie!

  2. Uncle Al.
Always liked PJ. He’s come a long way since his National Lampoon days. Republican Party Reptile was an interesting book. Kind of a precursor to the Tea Party movement. 1987.

  3. Just wait, it’s going to get a lot worse in Loony Canuck land as they are now starting to take in Americas rejects, i.e., the illegals who are yearning to receive everything free, EH!

  4. Thing about government spending is you can hide or obfuscate the losses by spreading them around, for decades. We are all sitting on time bombs, but some countries closer to exploding than others. They can be defused of course.

  5. @PHenry – I agree with @organgrinder regarding P.J.’s Hillary insanity, but I also agree with you that he’s done some fine work. This quotation of his will always be one of my favorites:

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.

  6. Covered California, Cali’s O care exchange, has been falsely advertising increases of 8 to 12 percent. Well in most areas it’s closer to 25 to 32 percent. Even heavily populated areas were closer to 18%. One of our local TV stations FB pages did a post regarding the increases and people were coming un glued. I posted “If you think O Care sucks wait until you get a load of Single Payer”. I was immediately attacked. I pointed out that Free Markets are the only thing that would drive prices down and that O care and Single Payer are Socialist programs. First response was “whats wrong with Socialism”. I responded back “Venezuela”. This took place several days ago, and I’m still getting called names. LOL

  7. Nowadays, when someone tells me that health care is a ‘right’, I remind them of the right to keep and bear arms, then tell them to look up all the types you cannot have anymore. I finish by asking them “why would you think health care would be any different than any of the other ‘rights’ we already have?”

  8. @Brad – I received a letter from Anthem saying my policy may not exist next year, I may have to get a different one. That would be fine, if it weren’t for the fed saying I can’t get one of my choosing. It’s illegal to not have health insurance, but there are no policies legal to buy! Ugh.

  9. LCD
I’ve been hearing some real horror stories and they’re getting worse. I know a guy that makes pretty good money and he sold his Million dollar plus home and moved into something he could pay cash for so he could afford his health care premium for a family of 5. Which he laughs about and says they can’t use the insurance anyway because the deductible is so high.

  10. Super patriot. You should read the comments in your article. Even the author changes his opinion in response after most say s ko medical sucks it is just better than US… not high praise when you read the other comments

  11. I have a suspected torn rotator cuff from OCR training, I saw a doctor less than a week ago. The appointment to receive an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis and see if there is any surgical intervention required is January 31, 2018!
