When the financially challenged black residents of New Orleans fled to Southeast Texas after Katrina, many stayed. They could be easily identified by their appearance and feral behavior. The long time, black residents of SE Texas resented/feared the transplants from NOLA and were right to do so. Crime skyrocketed in every community where they settled. The city of my birth is becoming a miniature version of Chicago and has since become over 50% black. The white folks have fled the crime and corrupt schools for the surrounding communities. Such a shame as I remember the city of my youth being a wonderful, safe place to grow up in. I hate LBJ and the Democrats. They built this.

This victim mentality is going to be the end of America. There has been plenty of warning, people who stay waiting for the Government to help them are playing with their own lives.
Early 2000 we chose to live in GA and bought a house in a county close to Atlanta, but far enough from the bustle. Our subdivision was new and the majority of the residents was homeowners. People took pride on their yards and houses. Crime was low and all in all it was a peaceful place to live. Not long after Katrina things started to change. The first sign of that, was one morning when my backyard fence, which is at the corner and some other houses around mine, were spray painted. That was a sad sign of what was coming. Soon, people started losing their houses, investment agencies started buying them cheap to rent out. People from “the city” started moving in. The whole scenario changed.
I’m not White. I’m not African-American either. I’m an immigrant and I want to live my American dream. I never wanted to live in places where they don’t speak English. If I loved the place where I came from, I’d have stayed there, with my family. I wanted the “American way of life”, as they used to say in my citizenship study book. I found every opportunity in this land and worked hard and I’m grateful for it. I never took anything for granted. It’s sad to see people who were born here, with all the advantages, just sit around and expect others to do everything for them. The value of my house went down, but the most tragic was to see the value of the community going down too. And that has nothing to do with who is the President.

Maybe it has something to do with while the black folks are standing around waiting for FEMA to come bail them out, the white folks are boarding up their windows, securing their valuables,listening to the evac advisories, and getting the hell out of Dodge..
Still not as efficient as building a city 5 feet below the waterline and right in the path of hurricane alley, supplying it with a joke of a pumping system and dykes, and fill it with democrats, like New Orleans.
