KFI: Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León introduced SB 54, his sanctuary state bill known as the “California Values Act,” as a direct shot at President Trump and federal law.
What SB 54 would do is break down the communication between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities. They wouldn’t be able to do their job to detain and violent criminals, all because de León and the rest of California’s liberal leaders have worked themselves and the public up into a mass hysteria.
De León accepted amendments to the bill at the request of law enforcement, such as letting police respond to federal immigration requests related to inmates who are serving time or who have been previously convicted of serious and violent felonies.
Changes also require ICE to be notified at least 60 days before the scheduled release of an illegal alien who has been convicted of a violent or serious felony.
Today a new batch of amendments is expected, after Governor Brown voiced concerns over the bill a few weeks back.

Furthermore, I would think that the people would have (should have) recourse against the State of California for damages resulting in Illegal Alien crimes that would be clearly preventable with Federal data.
