Why doesn’t the governor, upon finding these cities, arrest the mayor and police chiefs immediately?
Good question mike, the mayors of Texas cities have considerable power but are not omnipotent. They have to answer to city councils who ultimately define city policies. How many do you arrest, on what charge? declaring a city as a sanctuary is not against the law however not conforming to federal laws is. Should the chief of police be the one arrested. Determining who is responsible is the key.
A reward/bounty would do the trick.
