Rand Paul: Neighbor’s Attack Wasn’t About Landscaping

Daily Caller: Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul spoke out on Monday for the first time since being attacked by his neighbor 10 days ago, saying in an interview that there’s “no justification” for the attack.

Paul’s socialist neighbor, Rene Boucher, tackled Paul from behind while he was mowing his lawn, leaving Paul with six broken ribs. Boucher has said the attack was over a “trivial matter.”

“From my perspective, I’m not really too concerned about what someone’s motive is,” Paul told the Washington Examiner. “I’m just concerned that I was attacked from the back and somebody broke six of my ribs and gave me a damaged lung where at least for now I have trouble speaking and breathing and now I’ve hurt for 10 days.”

“There is no motive that would justify hitting somebody from behind and breaking their ribs and damaging their lungs, so no, there is no justification for something like that,” he added.

Paul also knocked down media reports that the attack was the culmination of a landscaping feud between the two neighbors, telling the Examiner that he hadn’t spoken to Boucher in 10 years.  MORE

  1. Well, now we know “what it wasn’t about”.
Was Rand sexually undressing Boucher as he mowed his lawn?
Was Rand making obscene gestures or was sexual harassment involved?
I mean sexual harassment is all the rage right now.

  2. The day it happened I said to my son that the media is lying that this was a neighborly dispute.
I said it then, and still do, that this guy is a deranged Bernie supporter who hates Republicans and small government Libertarian Rand Paul in particular.

  3. After the criminal charges get raised to a federal felony and the personal injury lawyers have their way with this dummy, he will have to find another place to live. That will happen when he is released from his next gated community.

  4. Contrast a libertarian who choses to rationally assess the political climare and determine the best way to deal with it is to run for office and make a LEGAL difference to a millionare socialist (?????) who stews over the loss of his “savior” for a year and then resorts to impulsive violence.

  5. The media got their narrative out early:

Paul gets in fight because he’s a bad neighbor.

Boucher pleads not guilty. So everything is now “alleged”. Ok. So it wasn’t him that did this?

This was either attempted murder or premeditated aggravated assault on a member of Congress.

If these are the new rules, liberals aren’t going to like what’s coming.

I don’t see any of them condemning this attack by their supporter or defending their “friend and colleague from Kentucky”.

  6. But if a patriot accidentally tripped over Piglosis big feet the press (and its minions the Democraps) would immediately rule he or she guilty of all charges including attempted assassination!

  7. I had an asshole neighbor for almost 22 years. He was always threatening me. I told him many times to shut his trap and come over and show me how tough he was. He never did. Typical democrat.
    All mouth, no guts.

You can’t pick your neighbors, unfortunately.

  8. THEY KNOW IT’S A FELONY ATTACK.

The media and lawyers are running around claiming it was not political, racial, etc.

Broke many ribs. That qualifies, and who knows what else.

  9. I had a neighbor who only came to his house one weekend a month. He waved and said hello and then within minutes he was outside pacing up an down the property line. I had planted green onions hidden my my flower garden along the property line because my silly dog loved to lay out in the grass and eat the green onions. Quite a comical sight! One day the neighbor was pounding on my front door so loud I thought the house was on fire. When I opened the door he was in a rage saying I had planted on his property. I said I would be out in a moment and went to get the documents regarding the property line. This was not
enough for the neighbor so I said I would call the city and have someone come out and mark the line for him.
I knew he wouldn’t like the result but he had asked for it. He was actually using four feet of my property. In addition, he had altered the slope of the front yard and he was told to correct this immediately so he wouldn’t flood my property in a heavy rain. After that day he smiled sheepishly and waved but never came over again.

  10. it was clearly a political hate crime.

the neighbor was stirred into action by comments spoken by schumer, obamam, clinton, pelosi, mcconnel, ryan and the rest of the crew in the swamp with their lunatic ravings.

like yelling fire in a crowded theatre.
