NTK:
A tax on Seattle’s highest earners was ruled illegal by King County Superior Court Judge John Ruhl on Wednesday, when he ruled that the ordinance violated Washington’s state constitution.
The tax, which originated with a proposal from Socialist Seattle Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, passed through city council unanimously in July. It mandated that individuals making more than $250,000 per year and couples making more than $500,000 per year would pay an income tax to the city.
The state’s constitution forbids cities from levying income taxes on their residents, but nevertheless, Seattle’s city council passed the initiative and wasted taxpayer dollars defending the clearly unconstitutional rule.
Seattle is so dark blue people here don’t realize she is trying to destroy the city. This woman is an enemy of Seattle and the United States.
The people who couldn’t make a profit from a lemonade stand, are running the finances of a city. -sad.
We need more income, what do we do?
How about we sign a piece of paper demanding more money?
BRILLIANT!
We don’t need no stinking constitution!
Perhaps the shortest lawsuit this year. Any junior high school student who can read could have decided this matter.
Next up for Seattle: repealing the laws of gravity, re-zoning the coastline and pushing the Pacific ocean back one mile, requiring the sun to rise in the west and set in the east during daylight savings time, and giving voting rights to migratory birds.
Wyatt, someone will give your suggestions to the next council meeting–thank God I don’t live in Seattle. On a more serious side, wasn’t this Communist elected by the people? Some lessons are harder to learn than others.
The problem is the Judaical Branch has so over reached its authority I’m left wondering if the judge ruled the way he did because he actually cares about the constitutions or the tax hike affected him so he shut it down for personal reasons.
But Seattle’s Gun Violence Tax is okey-dokey:

No matter what city you pick, the best and brightest avoid city government like the plague.
She’s not giving up. The Seattle City Council is going to revisit this issue again with the hopes of getting even more money than this first attempt.
Try to find a pic with Kshama with her mouth closed. She is always yelling about something.
Progs never met a tax they didn’t like. Except the ones they have to pay.
When is that mega quake coming?
