Gretchen Carlson won’t rule out political career

The Hill: Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson left the door open to running for political office on Thursday, saying “who knows?”

“My life has worked in mysterious ways,” she said on CNN. “I started as a classical violinist and was going to be a lawyer and I ended up in TV and never expected to be the face of sexual harassment.”

“So my answer to that question is, who knows?” she added.

Speculation has swirled that Carlson could challenge Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) for his seat in 2018. She acknowledged on Thursday that she had been asked to mount a Senate bid in her home state.

She told CNN that now is not the time for her to run for office, and tweeted following the interview that she is not running for Senate at this time.

  1. For some reason I could never figure out, I never liked Gretchen. The fact is that I intensely disliked her. Go back to your violin and taking care of your family–you have a lot of money now so go away.

  2. I always liked her. On FOX in the mornings I always thought she brought a certain, fly over country/mid west, set of values. Plus she has some awesome supple pouting breasts.

  3. “My life has worked in mysterious ways,” she said on CNN. “I started as a classical violinist and was going to be a lawyer and I ended up in TV and never expected to be the face of sexual harassment.”

I don’t think “face” was the part of her anatomy that brought her fame.

  4. Network executive / political advisor or a guy named Jim says…”Well, Good Morning Gretchen”…..Gretchen answered…” I’m fine, how are you?”…Nine months later Gretchen says…” Yes, he said hello, but it was obvious that he was undressing me with his eyes and planning on grabbing my tightly wrapped ass and caressing my half exposed cleavage”….

  5. Hit the send button too soon….
says she’s running against progressive Murphy of CT. Good luck with that.

Sweetie, you were rewarded $20 mil for sexual harassment. That should’ve eased your pain & suffering. But if you want to continue wear that banner, so be it. It’s quite a crowded competition these days.

  6. I thought maybe she would be running for Al Froggy Franken’s seat.
(He never actually spent much time in Minnesota, thank God)
Gretchen was a former Miss Minnesota after all. Then again maybe Loni Anderson should run (another Minnesotan)…although I would much prefer Bailey Quarters over either of them….or even Les Nessman.
I was almost as impressed by his silver sow award as much as he was.

  7. @Aunt Liz: So YOU’RE the one who’s been posting all those screwy anonymous comments here over the years.

I’m glad you finally ‘fessed up to it, though. From now on when I seen an comment by “anonymous”, I’ll know it’s you.

    😉
