Jeff Flake: Obama and I stay in touch

The Hill: Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) said on Saturday that he has kept in touch with former President Obama.

Flake told “The Axe Files” host David Axelrod that he still talks with Obama and that the former president called him recently to make sure he was alright, apparently after the senator gave an impassioned speech announcing he would not seek reelection.

During that speech, Flake heavily criticized President Trump and said he would “no longer be complicit or silent” while the president continues his “reckless, outrageous and undignified” behavior.

On Saturday, Flake complimented Obama for reaching out to him just before he left the White House.

“The last night he was in the White House, the day before inauguration he called just to say that he enjoyed working with me,” Flake said. “And I certainly said the same. He didn’t have to do that. It was very nice.” MORE

  1. Well, at least he’ll get the votes of Bill Kristol, Ben Shapiro, Erick Erickson and maybe even John McCain (unless he dies beforehand, and then he’ll vote Democrat).

  2. Arizona must be one hell of a politically corrupt place.
Their senators never missed a chance to sell out their own base.
There must be a whole lot of money in play for selling out.

  3. We in Arizona are sure he does stay in touch – as does his little piece of garbage friend McCain. It is so embarrassing and infuriating to live in a state with both of those traitors allegedly representing us.

As the song sort of goes…..”we both know there’s a lot of stupid people on the world! I’m definitely of the opinion that their “wins” are rigged….…and, of course they are liars, cheaters, traitors…..scum!

We used to be a pretty happy RED state. I want liberals to stay in their own blue states – and Flake and McCain should move in with them!!

  4. Why does he not do what the Rove Republican, Charlie Crist, did 8 years ago and say. “I’m a Bush Republican!”! Unlike Charlie he says he is not running. Folk in Fla understood “I’m a Bush Republican” in plain English meant and still does DEMOCRAT. Charlie lost is next election. But Jeff keeps saying is out of politics. So fess up you are a Bush Republican; why equivocate?

I think the answer is he hopes to run again. Like all Rove GOPe folk he lies!

  5. There is no doubt that the cartels have some scumsucking US politicians on their payroll, especially in border states; I also have no doubt that The Flake is one of them.
