Sales go flaccid at Dick’s Sporting Goods

Patriot Retort:  Who didn’t see this coming?

After caving to the anti-gun Leftists and their “student activist” props, Dick’s Sporting Goods has seen its sales go flaccid.

According to National Review, Dick’s stock also plunged.

The company’s shares fell 7.3 percent after going up 13 percent this year. Sales failed to hit the projected $2.74 billion, tapering off at $2.66 billion for this quarter.

Now to be fair, Dick’s Sporting Goods isn’t just losing business over their virtue-signaling. They face stiff competition from online giant Amazon as well as Nike.

But given that, why on earth would they decide now is a good time to alienate at least half their customer base?  MORE

  1. I do hope the net winner out of all of this is the small gun shops. The big box stores all but wiped them out in the last 20 years.
My nearest local shop just closed because of health reasons.

  2. I’ll be in floriduh in a couple days. So I got to thinking a few days ago, I need to pack summerwear and the only casual shoes I have are two pairs of goretex merrells.

My plan this morning was to head back into liberalization where hopefully I can find something more summerish for my feet. Farm & Fleet, TSC, Rural King and Big R are great places to buy Mucks but not so much a decent pair of lightweight walking shoes.

Where will I go? Gander Mountain closed down, Bass Pro is closer than Cabellas and there’s nothing at the mall even worth looking at.

Dicks? Lol, nope. I’ll wear my winter Merrells if I have to for 5 days.

  3. cc: Bass Pro is insanely expensive. At least for fishing gear.

I quit shopping at Dick’s the first time they signaled their lack of 2A support.

Not to mention their six foot long receipts if you buy one item or their constant harassment to give up your personal info to join their club for a worthless discount.

Hate those guys. Much prefer Academy or Ebay private sellers. Got a Taurus PT92 for $320 at Academy. That is tough to beat.

  4. We were literally about to drop $2,000 on kayaks at Dick’s when they pulled their BS. That isn’t happening now. We are going to Academy. I don’t even care if I have to pay a little more. I’m not supporting virtue signaling companies that attack the Constitution.

  5. They aren’t pissing off half their client base they pissed off just about all of them in order to satisfy a small number of loud leftists who haven’t yet and will probably never shop at their store. If they think that this policy change will attract new customers from the left side of the divide they are delusional. Wait for the sales to drop even more as customers find other, perhaps better places to shop and the stock to tank. Citibank is feeling the pinch as well with their stock down 4% after their announcement.
