Trump to Hold Campaign Rally During White House Correspondents’ Dinner

WFB: President Donald Trump isn’t going to attend this year’s annual White House Correspondents Dinner, but he will hold a campaign rally that evening.

The rally will take place on the evening of April 28 in Washington, Michigan—just outside Detroit—while reporters who cover the White House will gather in Washington, D.C., the Hill reports.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will represent Trump while he spends the evening at the rally and skips the dinner for the second straight year. It typically features comedy routines by a featured entertainer and the president himself. read more

  1. I’m guessing that the LSM will run with the co-respondent’s shit-o-rama.

I cannot imagine what could compel someone to attend such tedium; except a threat of death or being subjected to intense pain.

A bunch of stuffed shirts doing really poor stand-up comedy!

    Oy!

  2. Isn’t this standard operating procedure in response to hate rallies?

To stage a rally in defiance of a rally is American as apple pie. Trump continues to show his political and common sensical approach to dealing with the swamp.

  3. Ohhh! I misunderstood the title.

I thought he was going to have a fund raiser AT the Correspondents’ Dinner. Tell a joke, get some moola in the war chest. Heh. That would have been the most in-your-face to the press yet.

I was superbly impressed by that idea. This will do, though! lol
