Dershowitz : ‘I Don’t Want To Live In A Police State’

“It was Lavrentiy Beria who told Stalin, ‘show me the man, and I’ll find your crime.’ You can go through the federal criminal code and find crimes that virtually any businessman, any politician has committed,” Dershowitz stated. “It is so easy to get a warrant. It is so easy to persuade a judge to give you a wiretap warrant. That simply doesn’t protect American citizens, and any civil libertarian who was exposed to what’s going on here today — if Hillary Clinton were the subject — would be taking exactly the opposite position.” – More at Daily Caller

  1. I wrote my Senator. Asked a single question. “How many Federal Laws carry a five year or more incarceration penalty for conviction of violation?”

A staffer responded, months later, that no individual knows that. There are too many laws on the books to be able to be kept current with.

Anybody else see a problem with that?

  2. To Hell with them all. Congress should tighten the purse strings until these entrenched bureaucrats retire or resign. Then those buildings should be converted into apartment buildings or museums or demolished. I’m so fed up with this bull crap. They are unaccountable and have way overstepped their bounds. People are getting their lives ruined by these criminals.

  3. Congress is less concerned about citizen’s lives being ruined, their focus is reelection, campaign fundraising and media time.

Rules, Regulations, Bills, Laws and BIG campaign checks are all written by special interest groups and lobbyists who have a vested interest to elevate their group and/or client above the level playing field that is supposed to exist.

Government has little time to address real issues of poor laws, creating better laws and absolutely no time to rescind very bad laws.

If they want you, they want the means to get you “legally”.

  4. Whats happening with Douchewitz is representative of many Americans that once called themselves demorats. They have become so extreme and vile that even the hardened lifers are drifting away. By no means am I claiming Douchewitz or any others are going and joining the repubics, even though some I know have, they are just being soured and no longer are automatic votes for the rats. Old demorat union guys and ex hippie scum that are looking at the reality of death realize what they have created and will be leaving for their adult children and grandchildren is a real bag of shit. Their personal greed and egos will never allow them to openly support or vote for a Trump like candidate but secretly they are praying he succeeds and wins again. Many will stay home and watch in silence. Fact.

  5. If I am not completely drunk….. er I mean mistaken, I believe that a large part of the American Revolution was fought because…. too many laws!

  6. I appreciate Dersh’s defense lawyer consistency, given that he’s a lifelong liberal Democrat.

Be that as it may, I tend to think that he also might be just a little bit motivated by concern for the coming indictments of Deep State participants. And they actually DID commit a whole lotta crimes.

  7. “Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against… We’re after power and we mean it… There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.” ~~ Ayn Rand

  8. Beria was to Stalin what Comey, Clapper, and Lerner were to Obola.

Khrushchev demoted (murdered) Beria but we have no one to rid us of these turbulent traitors.

we have no one to rid us of these turbulent traitors

    Who is “us”?

There does seem to be a tragic lack of those willing to roll off the couch, and make The Party make way for the loyal opposition, in good standing within The Party. And there is a gloriously patriotic lack of those willing to even stand aside for, let alone beside, or even behind, those willing to remove The Party for the people. Those willing to deny the people the honor of serving The Party are merely Islamistsfanatics, unworthy of accredited intellectual respect.

So, loyal citizen, who is your “us”?

  10. Us is We the People.
Those who would rid “us” of “them” are the black ops, wet work guys “us” pays to do this sort of thing – the CIA, FBI, DIA, NSA, SS, EPS, BATFE, Post Office, IRS, State Police, and whomever else we arm and pay to kill for “us.”

Sorry. I thought that was obvious.

They are not your private army.

(And those you listed, explicitly signed up to kill “you, the people.” Not “for you, the people.” Bless your heart, child.)

  12. Anonymous,
I thought they swore to protect and defend the Constitution (against all – ALL – enemies, foreign and domestic).
Guess they swore to protect and defend the maggots who abuse that Constitution.

Another fukkin thing I got wrong!
