American Thinker: Gotcha. Russian collusion. President Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, took a $500,000 payment from a Russian oligarch shortly after the 2016 election. Bango! Or so the headlines derived from the claims of porn “star” Stormy Daniels’s attorney, Michael Avenatti, would have you think. Trump brought down by a porn star.
It’s tripe. Get a load of how it’s being reported, by anti-Trump network CNN:
The lawyer representing adult film star Stormy Daniels sought to ratchet up the pressure on Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen Tuesday, claiming that he has learned of numerous banking transactions that could call into question Cohen’s business practices.
“Michael Cohen should not be selling access to the President of the United States,” attorney Michael Avenatti said on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” Tuesday night.
In a memo posted online Tuesday afternoon, Avenatti alleged that Cohen received the following payments after the 2016 election: approximately half-a-million dollars from a company linked to Viktor Vekselberg, a Russian oligarch with close ties to the Kremlin; nearly $400,000 from pharmaceutical giant Novartis; $150,000 from Korea Aerospace Industries and $200,000 from telecommunications conglomerate AT&T.
So much for the earlier claims that Cohen was “barely” a lawyer because his only client was Donald Trump. Apparently, he had clients.
This is why the claims of the porn star’s lawyer are so suspect, even though the media are buying into them.
What exactly was going on in the news with Vekselberg, a Russian oligarch reportedly one of Vladimir Putin’s best buddies, as all oligarch supposedly are?
The pair of them were fighting. Putin was throwing Vekselberg’s business executives into jail to press him to toe Putin’s line, which the rebellious billionaire apparently didn’t.

Avenatti’s 15 minutes of fame are about up. He was necessary for a while because the American public was getting tired of the usual malcontents bitching and moaning about Trump and trotting out conspiracy after conspiracy only to have them shot down by facts and Avenatti was a new face. But Avenatti’s just a one trick pony and his act is wearing thin.
This guy’s self promotion far exceeds that of P.T.Barnum, and even Barack Obama. CNN is giving this ambulance chaser $millions in free advertising. No wonder nobody watches this channel except in airports, cruise ships, or doctors offices.

The “Russian oligarch” in question has ties to Hillary Clinton who oversaw selling our high tech secrets to Russia over the Pentagon’s objections. Skolkovo has been studiously ignored by the media even though the military reported significant increase in missiles sold to ISIS by the Russians shortly after. Hmmm.
Also have to wonder why Mueller would turn over to SDNY a link to Russian payoffs and Trump?
Novartis said it was clear after the first meeting Cohen wasn’t the conduit to Trump via pay to play. It had to pay the contracted amount because of the only way out of the contract was to dismiss “for cause”. Apparently the contract didn’t spell out it was pay to play.
Same with ATT. They didn’t renew when they learned Trump wasn’t for sale.
I think this was a sting to find out who the leakers are in SDNY and Mueller team. Remember, Trump appointee in SDNY recused and would not participate in the Cohen raid.
How telling is it that the left’s idea of stellar, credible witnesses are an unemployable porn performer who’s seen more traffic than the Lincoln Tunnel and a crooked lawyer with a $5 million tax lien and trail of stiffed employees?
