Mossberg Joins Springfield Armory, NSSF in Cutting Ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods

Breitbart: Legendary shotgun maker Mossberg is following in the footsteps of Springfield Armory and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) by severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Breitbart News reported that Springfield Armory severed ties with Dick’s on May 3, after it became known that the sporting goods chain had hired lobbyists to push gun control to Congress. The next day, NSSF canceled Dick’s membership in their organization, thereby expelling the business. more

  1. Good move, ya dicks. This is moronic appeasement of liberals who don’t shop there anyway, at the expense of law abiding gun owners.
Soon, they’ll be stocked with nothing but hollow, plastic wiffle balls. Appropriate.

  2. I never see shoppers at the gun counter at the local Dick’s, as their prices are high. There are a lot of better options near by, so there may be some business motivation for their stunt.

  3. They must employ many green MBAs in their Management.
I bought 3 long guns, including a Mossberg, and much hunting/fishing gear and ammo @ Dicks. If not for those purchases, I wouldn’t have entered. While there I always bought other sports gear for the kids.

Now I won’t go again. I am of the demographic they salivate over. Buhbye dumb Dicks.

  4. W/o Mossberg they are left with a bunch of half-assed foreign made junk that have serious reliability issues. I was in the industry and don’t have much use for Mossberg firearms, they did have Mossberg badged Howa 1500 for a while that was pretty high quality, but their shotguns handle like a gas pipe strapped to a two-by-four stock. Generally speaking they are reliable though. The plastic safety button breaking on the 500 et al was a recurring issue, it was the only real serviceability issue I can remember.

  5. Field and Stream is the hunting/fishing outlet for Dick’s. I just notified F&S that thanks to their anti-2A activities, i will never set foot in a Dick’s or F&S store again. They are totally clueless anyway. The local store carries a huge assortment of crossbows, with sale prices at the beginning of hunting season. One problem; Crossbows are illegal for hunting here in Oregon. I will miss their Friday ammunition sales which they stopped after the Florida school shooting. Fuc-em.

  6. Another store for yuppies who buy the most expensive camping gear they won’t use since they won’t go out in the dirty woods where there are no Starbucks or indoor toilets. I used to laugh at people going into Gander Mountain whose sale prices were higher than Walmart’s everyday prices.

Though I once scored on CCI .22 MiniMags for $5 a box no limit…
