PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Nazis And Socialists Are The Same Bunch Of Idiots

DC: The notion that Nazism was a “right-wing” ideology has been perpetuated by recent generations and is profoundly incorrect. The perverse rewriting of history obfuscates the true causes and consequences of the Nazis. It also dishonors the millions lost to the Holocaust. Worse, this kind of absolute ignorance of history is a sure path to repeating it.

In fact, most Americans don’t really understand who the Nazis were.

The Nazis were the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. They were demonstrably self-proclaimed socialists. In the words of Hitler himself from a speech in 1922:

“Whoever is prepared to make the national cause his own to such an extent that he knows no higher ideal than the welfare of the nation; whoever has understood our great national anthem, ‘Deutschland ueber Alles,’ to mean that nothing in the wide world surpasses in his eyes this Germany, people and land — that man is a Socialist.”

Hitler’s version of socialism was blended with racial hatred, xenophobia, nationalism and militarism. Extreme nationalism and militarism (Castro wore his military fatigues to his dying day) are tried and true methods employed by totalitarian governments engaged in demagogic control of a population.  read more

  1. so … the ‘National Socialist German Worker’s Party’ doesn’t ring a bell w/ the brain dead clueless ‘children’ of our glorious educational system?

    … just guessing

  2. Nazi – National Socialist
    Soviet Socialist – Inter-National Socialist
    Fascist – Italian Socialist
    Spanish Republican – Spanish Socialist
    Progressive – Wilsonian Socialist
    Mao-ist – Chinese Socialist
    Demonrat – Globaloney Socialist

The simple, distasteful fact of the matter is that the Second World War was an internecine Socialist battle for supremacy:
National Socialism allied with Italian Socialism v. Soviet Socialism allied with Rooseveltian-Wilsonian Socialism and English Socialism.

Today, having been discredited throughout the world, socialism wears a mask – calling itself “democratic,” “progressive,” “humanitarian,” “republican,” anything other than what it is – but the foundation is the same: nihilistic totalitarianism.

  3. In 1870 a bunch of exiled Germans met on the south side of a big river, in a big city in France. They met there because they said they wanted Otto dead; Otto returned the favor. They formed the National SOCIALIST Workers Party. The river flows to the East so from a boat these men would be on the left side of the river; hence 100 years ago Adi was referred to as a leftist. The city is P—

In ’37 When Time made Adi their “Man of the year” they proclaimed him “THE MARXIST MESSIAH!”!
In “My Struggle” (I read Adi’s words to avoid any: in advertrnt mis translations; or accidental omissions or… Spent a small fortune on dictionaries!) Adi said” t\The 2 greatest men in the world were: Karl Marx and Jesus Christ!” Note. #1!

  5. See Hitler’s Social Revolution (Schoenbaum),pub. 1965. It’s an expose of Hitler’s flavor of socialism. It nails the fact that German industrialists and bankers were forced to toe the Nazi line. This contradicts most academic historians that Nazism was an extreme right-wing form of capitalism, with capitalists in charge.

An important input to Nazism was Darwinism and eugenics. See The Pure Society (Pichot), pub. 2009.

There are accounts of how Goering would have meetings with industrialists and bankers about the Nazi 5-year plans and harangue them without mercy. Yes, the Nazis were in charge of every aspect of life in Germany.

A worker could not even change jobs without authorization from the authorities.

  6. The left quibbles a lot about the different kinds of socialism, so as to deny the similarities they all have. They act like you are unable to comment on socialism, unless you are expert on the different varieties.

It’s like demanding a degree in scatology before you’re allowed to call something a piece of shi*.

Nazism has little in common with conservatism, which is mainly about limiting government power.

  7. Tim Buktu,
You may want to pick up a copy of Neumann’s “Behemoth.”
Neumann was a socialist and tried to make distinctions, but his thorough scholarship and intellectual honesty unmasks the socialistic/totalitarian nature of National Socialism.

    >You may want to pick up a copy of Neumann’s “Behemoth.”

Tim, thanks for the tip. I read the first pages on Amazon, which was a review of the book, and it does sound like Neumann, as a Marxist, tried to make too strong a link between German business and Nazism.

But interesting nonetheless. I will put it on my Christmas wish list.

  9. Tim Buktu,
There WAS a strong link between Business and National Socialism, just as there was between Labor and National Socialism.
Both were co-opted, through a carrot-and-stick regimen (the “stick” led to death), and it has, fundamentally, been a source of many lies since. The great combines (like I.G. Farben) built slave-labor camps in collusion with the SS – a rather symbiotic relationship, though the threat of death (or internment in the camps) was palpable.

A fairly compelling psychology of threat and reward that has been exploited by the likes of Jimmy Carter, Bubba Clinton, Barak Obola, and the political machinery of every modern state since (never a threat of death, but of certain bankruptcy – an important distinction).

If you get it, I hope you “enjoy” it. It’s a tough read but worthy, nonetheless.
