Bill Kristol barks at the moon

American Thinker: Some #NeverTrumps won’t quit.  Indeed, so chained are they to their hurt pride and delusions that they can’t.  Foremost among them is Bill Kristol, former editor of the Weekly Standard

Speaking at a New Hampshire gathering of businessmen called “Politics and Eggs,” Mr. Kristol asserted that President Trump should be challenged in the 2020 GOP primary.  That in and of itself is not a bad idea. Clearing the air between opposing philosophies has value.  In this instance, it would come about in two ways.  First, it allows the president to expound on his successes and ongoing efforts to MAGA and contrast them with his opponents.  On the other side of the coin, as the likes of Jeff Flake, John Kasich, Mitt Romney, or any of the other establishment Republican regulars drone on, they make promises that they either never intend or lack the fortitude to keep.  Their shtick is so transparent, so tedious, so yesterday.  At least with Trump in the mix, there is great entertainment value when the GOPe try their old boilerplate rhetoric on him face to face.

Kristol’s rationale for challenging Trump is from the Far Side.  He admits that the president’s approval rating is quite high – over 80 percent among Republicans.  But Kristol says (hopes) that could change.  And anyway, he feels that Trump’s success and high approval ratings are due only to good luck.   more here

    Haven’t heard in a long time . . Check

He was on CNN State of the Union this AM.
    It was embarrassing.
    Loved every minute of it.
Is it still $200 per show?
    Or $50 for a block?

  2. Who foots the bill for Kristol’s opinions? I know that he’s a small cog in the bigger overall anti-Trump machine that has been feverish working to undermine Trump. But really, who would actually pay for Kristol’s opinions, he’s rarely if ever right about anything.

  3. Anonomous @. Bill Kristol is irrevelant? I disagree. He is no more irrevelant than Rich Lowrey of National Review, or George Will of whatever, Jonah Goldberg, and others who are simply “ANTI TRUMP.”
They are part. wittingly or not. part of “The Deep State.” Useful idiots. Brilliant guys, but idiots nevertheless. I used to love them, but I lost interest in their snobby bullshit over the last two years. They are elitists. They are gentlemen, they are well versed, they are fucking brilliant. They are the smartest people on the fucking planet; they, along with Whoopie Goldberg, Michael Bloomberg, Joy, Mika, and sleepy Joe are all brilliant people; whereas Donald Trump is a fucking jerk. He talks funny, repeats himself often, says “un presidential” things like, “let’s see what happens.” (With NK), They are, talking about MS-13. “animals.”
Oh My God! The NFL kneelers. “Let them leave the Country.” Yeah. let them start a league in Kenya.
I’m reading “Killing the Deep State” by Jerome R. Corsi.
Worth the read. Scary. We have to stick with and support The Donald, no matter how stupid the elitists and academians think he is. MAGA

  4. I think you + AT need to add: Cal Thomas, Jonah Goldberg + Max Boot to the list of leftist GOP don haters. Not that I disagree with what you’ve said about Billy.

  5. I’m humbled and embarrassed I ever read columns written by Bill K and thought he was someone worth reading. On the bright side I haven’t read his crapola for at least four years.

  6. Yes. That was the worst issue of National Review I ever read. I couldn’t believe it. Thomas Sowell, Cal Thomas, so many others denigrating Donald Trump. Why? Who did they want as President, another mild spoken, sly, bullshit artist?

  7. Did Kristol’s wife scream out Trump’s name during moment of passion? Because no one carries a grudge this long against someone he doesn’t personally know… unless it’s personal.

    > …he feels that Trump’s success and high approval ratings are due only to good luck.”
    > Oh come on, are you THAT stupid?

He’s right. If the Democrats hadn’t eBay’d their throne to Hillary, it’s entirely possible Trump would not be President.
