The Left Will Not Succeed in Killing Coal

AT:

No matter how much the left has come to believe in its own delusions, for any reasonable observer, it’s shockingly clear that the Obama years have left a lasting toll on America.  If more proof were needed, look no farther than America’s energy system.  After an eight-year environmental crusade, the Trump administration was recently forced to step in and underwrite the country’s ailing coal and nuclear plants in a last-minute bid to avoid imperiling the reliability of the nation’s power grid.

Despite renewed political will to shore up America’s energy dominance, hard-line liberal and environmentalist lobbies are not letting go of the renewable dream.  Worse still, not only is the determination of the left in sidelining American coal jeopardizing American jobs, but its militant shortsightedness comes at a time when the world’s appetite for coal is rising.

The U.S. Department of Energy didn’t mince words last year when it released a report recommending that power markets revise how they value coal and nuclear power.  After years of inadequate review, it was finally revealed that Obama-era federal tax credits for wind and solar, as well as state renewable portfolio standards (RPS), were eating away at “baseload profits.”  Under Obama-era regulations, this forced federal agencies to expedite ever more permits for renewables in an attempt to obscure the symptoms without tackling the underlying structural problems.  Energy secretary Rick Perry said it the clearest: the nation’s power grid simply cannot afford more coal-fired power plants closing down – unless, of course, a grid collapse is an acceptable option for the world’s leading economy.  more here

  1. King Coal!

    Long Live the King!

“But we don’t need coal! We’s got’s electricity!” cry the ignorant.
In earlier times they’d have been considered to stupid to live – thank goodness for our more enlightened times! Now we’re asshole deep in morons.

Take it from R-Man a redneck scientist.
    Our water works,electric distribution grid,
sewer sys. and roadways all need to be replaced
and upgraded but our tax $$$ go to crap-hole
countries that absolutely hate us.These kids are
going to inherit some wore out shit.Hey, it will be
    just like Cuba,, Cool Bro!

  3. Government regulatory environment bolstered by fake research killed king Coal. Missouri-based firm Peabody Energy, Tennessee’s Alpha Natural Resources and other energy companies have returned or will return to mine coal.

During this carnage of the coal industry thousands of coal economic dependent families, communities and small businesses were laid waste by Government regulations. Many of the individuals will never fully recoup. It is a hope that communities and businesses will thrive once again.

  4. And a lot of the libtards here in Wash. State want to ban the transportation of coal because they’re worried (they’re Chicken Little’s and perpetually worried about everything) that somehow or another it’s gonna cause the death of us all. My daughter told me yesterday that our idiot governor Jay Inslee, Moon Beam Brown and Cuomo from NY are touting our economies because of support for the Paris Climate Accords, boy are they wrong as usual.

  5. Japan will be building several coal fired power plants. They need the power and – after Fukushima – there’s no appetite for nuclear.

Of course, the media chose not to publicize this

  6. Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door…
The environmentalists killed responsible renewable energy starting with the idiotic ‘The Monkey wrench Gang’ mentality about hydroelectric energy
Build enormous Dams every place you can: You will be storing much needed fresh water against drought, and creating markets for leisure activity, and power!
    Power using gravity.
Gravity is not renewable, it is omnipresent and will exist as long as the Universe does.
All that college and Liberals still don’t know shit

  7. “Wind & Solar ain’t ready folks.”

Not “Wind & Solar” because Wind IS Solar.
Average energy per square meter is 160 Watts.
    That’s it.
All the wishful thinking in the world won’t change that.
All the technological advancements of the future won’t change that.
That’s just the way it is.

All these eco-maggots are pulling their dicks while fantasizing about … what, exactly? This is an extension of the “Free-Shit” mentality – perpetrated by the socialist/totalitarian maggots who believe in the “Triumph of the Will” over every physical reality. If we all wish hard enough, not only will Tinker Bell come back to life, but energy will be “free” and “clean” and abundant!

Well, reality sets limits. Don’t like it? Then persist in your fantasies – just leave me the fuck out of your delusions.
