State Dept. Gives Up Case Against 3D Printed Gun Pioneer

WFB: The Department of State settled with the Second Amendment Foundation, Cody Wilson, and his company Defense Distributed on Wednesday, dropping claims that posting firearms designs on the internet violated an arms export law.

In the settlement, the State Department has agreed to waive prior restraint, which was imposed in 2013 against the plaintiffs, allowing Wilson and Defense Distributed to begin posting gun designs on the internet again. They also agreed to pay for what plaintiffs described as a “significant portion” of their attorney’s fees. Defense Distributed will also be refunded the $10,000 in registration fees it had paid to the State Department.

In an interview with the Washington Free Beacon, Wilson said he believes the settlement was inevitable because he believes the State Department had a bad case.  more here

  1. Let’s ban 3D printed coathangers. If that knowledge gets out, we’ll never be able to outlaw abortion.

Let’s ban 3D printed clocks so no one will know we turned the hands back to the 1950s.

Trump should tweet “Cool idea!” to the defendant and give him a White House invite. Come up with a plan to distribute far and wide and to China especially.

Nothing scares totalitarians more than a free people being able to defend themselves.

  2. One thing that they (seemingly continually) leave out of this story is the fact that the U.S. Government was forced, in this case, to publicly admit that the AR-15 is NOT a “weapon of war” if it is not Full Auto. THAT should be in the HEADLINE of the story.
