Notre Dame Professor Compares Reporters To Soldiers In CNN Op-Ed

Gee, I don’t know WHY people make fun of CNN.

DC:

Joseph Holt, an ethics professor at the University of Notre Dame, compared reporters to soldiers in a recent CNN op-ed.

Holt argued in the piece, published on Friday, that the press is the “protector” rather than the “enemy” of the people. Throughout his article, Holt defended the “professionalism” of CNN journalists and compared the media to “guardian angel[s]” and “soldiers.”

“Far from being the enemy of the people, the press at its best is like a guardian angel that caringly and capably protects us from harm,” Holt wrote.

He concluded, “We thank soldiers for their service because they devote themselves to protecting our freedoms, and we should. But we should also thank the media for the same reason — especially when the stakes have never been higher.”

The outlet was attacked on social media for publishing the comparison between reporters and soldiers.

  1. “Far from being the enemy of the people, the press at its best is like a guardian angel…”

I have to agree with this.

Unfortunately, we are saddled with a press at its worst. Partisan, biased, participating rather than reporting, and taking active measures to oppose, denigrate, smear and libel the man elected president.

THAT is vile by any standard.

  3. They’re soldiers alright.

Champions of everything gender fluid, bed bug ridden, and black on black violence. Anything that promotes their twisted world view.

    Go ahead, “unperson” me!

  4. Lowell nailed it; we’re dealing with the Press at its’ worst, not its best. And CNN reporters like Jim Acosta wants to make the news about THEM, not report facts. Wish we cold get back to Reporters Reporting the News, instead of “journalists”.

  5. CNN during the Obama years was a cheerleader for Obama and his administration. They accepted whatever garbage and lies were fed them, and didn’t bother to investigate scandals because it would make Obama look bad.

CNN has been after Trump ever since he announced his candidacy for President. As just one example, they practically ignored Trump’s inauguration speech and focused on the size of the crowd at the inauguration instead. CNN loves any hint of scandal supposedly committed by Trump, they make fun of the First Lady and Trump’s children, and while they have to report economic and foreign policy successes, they make it clear they really don’t like them and try to downplay their significance.

CNN is clearly pushing a political agenda; one that most of America really doesn’t like or agree with. So no – CNN is not a guardian angel of anything; they are partisan hacks. Acosta and his ilk are the kind of soldiers capable of fragging officers. Professors are upset only because CNN’s message is being rejected – not because Trump is attacking them – and they want their cozy Obama-like relationship with the Democrats back.
