Plan to divide California ends – IOTW Report

Plan to divide California ends

Herman Cain: The idea of splitting California into a group of three smaller states generated visceral reactions on both sides, but it was always a long shot. In fact, “long shot” probably isn’t the right term. “Pipe dream” is probably more accurate. Still, despite the odds, there was some excitement when the plan – backed by billionaire venture capitalist Tim Draper – seemingly made its way onto the ballot November ballot.

Then, questions arose about the validity of the plan’s use of the initiative process. A lawsuit was filed, and it was determined that the plan to divide the state needed to go through the legislature before it could be placed on the ballot.  more here

  1. So much for “self-determination.”

When unable to separate oneself from monsters, one tends to separate oneself from monsters – one way or another.

Sad. But the greedy maggots have always profitted from the sufferings of others.

  2. No American should be bound to the anti-American interests of its state.

So why not allow the maggots to go their own way? Let them wallow in the shit of their own making. Just make it clear, at the outset, that they’re on their own – no American owes them any-FUCKING-thing – EVER.

We were founded on the principle of self-determination (remember reading that shit about George III?).

  3. The only way California is going to separate is during a civil war. And guess who has all the (legal) guns? That is probably the the 2nd biggest reason they’re trying to take guns away- so the citizens won’t be the fly in the politicians’ gravy.

  4. The proposal to create more states out of CA would have touched off a serious conflict, if not a Civil War at least a Bleeding Kansas kind of variety.

Imagine all the illegal voting and ballot box stuffing in those new states had they been formed. This proposal sounded like a solution for better representation for those who are tired of being dominated by populated urban centers, but I fear it would create more animosity than it would solve.

Well, yeah; it’s right there in the U.S. Constitution. Besides, there is no way the far-left California legislature would approve dividing the state unless it was divided into two or more far-left states!
