FOX: HONOLULU – The Latest on a hurricane headed toward Hawaii (all times local):
11:30 a.m.
A powerful hurricane is moving closer to Hawaii as residents stock up on essentials such as water and ramen.
A National Weather Service update Tuesday says Hurricane Lane is Category 4 storm about 400 miles (644 kilometers) southeast of the Big Island and about 575 miles (925 kilometers) from Honolulu.
The Big Island, Maui and other smaller islands are under a hurricane watch. The weather service says it’s likely additional tropical storm or hurricane watches will be issued later Tuesday.
The storm has been moving west but is expected to turn northwest toward the state Wednesday into Thursday. There’s some uncertainty about its path, and residents are bracing for the worst.
Hawaiian Airlines is waiving change fees for tickets to, from, within and through Hawaii from Tuesday through Sunday.
Workers at stores throughout the islands say they’re bracing for an afternoon rush of people getting supplies. more here
Can a hurricane put out a volcano?
Suck it B*tches
In other news, a Hawaii judge has ordered the hurricane to turn away.
oh look, Hurricane Barack’s Anus coming to VaCa back to his bitchhood home
surf’s up!
Hey all you 1 IOTW person in Hawaii, stay safe!
According to the radar, it looks like it’s going to pass along the left side between tomorrow and Friday, kicking up some high surf. But still, they’ll get the ass-end of 120 mph winds.
Did you guys know that the house that was used in the filming of Magnum PI (Robin’s Nest) was purchased by one of obummer’s cronies a few years back? The story goes that they have never set foot in it and do not maintain it. I drove by it in January – It is a total dump now.
Another case of obummer sleaze ruining something nice…
Maybe mother nature can wash it into the ocean.
@MJA….the left side?….would that be the port side as you face if from California or the starboard side if you face it from Okinawa?…..What if it hits dead straight on the bow?….will it tip over?….
Is a hurricane in the Pacific an immigrant?
Actually, I thought they were called typhoons out there?
Many family and friends scattered about all the islands. Hoping no hardship from this. Daughters and grandkids on Oahu. Brothers and a sister on Lanai. Friends and a home on Maui. Another sister on Kauai. Hoping my house gets blown away but everyone stays safe.
The first time I vacationed in Hawai’i, it was a spontaneous decision. I’d broken my ankle a couple weeks beforehand and had planned to spend the coming Thanksgiving holiday with friends and their family in Indiana. But given the specter of navigating on crutches in several inches of snow, we happily accepted an offer to join others in Hawai’i instead.
On the eve of departure for Oahu, hurricane Ewa came through. When we arrived just hours afterward, Waikiki was experiencing rolling black-outs. So instead of crutching around in the Indiana snow, I wound up slogging up sixteen stories worth of stairs at our highrise hotel. Several times.
Those nautilus circuits, lap swimming and aerobics sessions really paid off! And — I was able to take my removable cast off and swim, so it was a fair trade. I think my ankle healed more quickly because of the warm salt water. 🙂
They told us Barry and Mitch bought Robin’s Nest. If that’s the case they’re letting it go to hell like all the other Community Organizing lots they bought. Negroes had better get a heads up on this, they are Obamas Chattel otherwise.
@Junopapa — Prayers from AA and Geoff C. for the safety of your family.
Hank “take a bow” Johnson-
On Hawaii’s ‘left side’. I was looking at the radar and that’s how the hurricane was shown traveling. LOL.
Also, NO. Hawaii cannot possibly tip over because pineapple roots break through the soil and onto the mountain range that sits below the islands, which is covered in dense Velcro. The roots attach to the velcro and it is pretty tough, near impossible to separate.
However-
There is one rare possibility in which Hawaii can flip over: If a fisherman casts too wide and hooks land mass on the opposite side and sails away quickly enough, he could indeed cause Hawaii to flip.
This is why state law demands fishing license as a safety measure.
Junopapa we’ll be praying for you guys. Stay safe! <3

What about Spam?
A very poor representation, however one of my favorite postage stamps on the face of the earth. Captain Cook survived, I hope Kimo’s can too.

Listened to, some, of these guys one late night at Kemos with the moon bouncing off the ocean.

Hurricanes if in the central North Pacific, eastern North Pacific and North Atlantic. Typhoon in the Northwest Pacific and tropical cyclone for the South Pacific and Indian Ocean. I googled it.
Real Hawaiians will hang tough and hopefully the lefties will flee.
