Ron DeSantis(R) Wins Florida Republican Gubernatorial Primary

FOX:

President Trump’s favored candidate, Rep. Ron DeSantis, declared victory Tuesday night over state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in Florida’s Republican gubernatorial primary after riding the wave of the president’s endorsement to the ballot box.

Meanwhile, the Bernie Sanders-backed Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum pulled off an upset in defeating a half a dozen rivals, including former Rep. Gwen Graham, in the Democratic primary for governor, according to a projection from the Fox News Decision Desk.

During a celebration event in Orlando, DeSantis thanked the president for “viewing me as somebody who could be a great leader for Florida.”

“Our victory is a good victory, anyways,” DeSantis said. “But man, to beat someone of his caliber is a big, big deal.”  MORE

  1. Meanwhile, on the democrat race, our unqualified socialist mayor of Tallahassee beat out daddy’s girl Gwen Graham who was entitled to it since daddy was Governor and Senator.
Hopefully, we won’t have the Obama effect where the voters want to make history by voting in the black guy.

  2. @MJA:

It looks like more Florida Republicans went to vote than Dems.

For governor, with 99% precincts in, the dem vote total was just under 1.5 million votes, and the rep vote was just over 1.6 million. For the U.S. Senate race, same numbers for the reps (dem Bill Nelson is opposed only by his own stupidity).

  3. @Bcattin ~ keep fighting the good fight … it ain’t easy to oppose the promises of Santa Claus

(I love Santa, but he’s as fake as a promise by Bernie Sanders)
