SC cop killed was ‘bravest police officer,’ 30 years on the force, and Air Force vet

AMN: Terrence Carraway, the officer killed Wednesday by a shooter in Florence, SC, was being remembered Thursday as an Air Force veteran and tireless detective who had just celebrated 30 years in law enforcement.

Seven South Carolina law enforcement officers were shot during a call Wednesday afternoon, including two police officers and two sheriff’s deputies with serious injuries, reported The State. The suspected shooter was Fred Hopkins, 74, who lived at the residence where the shootings occurred, reported WMBF.

Carraway was an officer with the Florence Police Department.

“I want you to pray for the family who lost the bravest police officer I have ever known,” Florence Police Chief Allen Heidler told media outlets at the shooting scene, according to WLTX. “Today marks a horrible day, I lost a good friend of mine, my friend for 30 years.”

  1. It’s all about the surviving family that will grieve.

I hope this patriot is memorialized in some way.

Put the Perp through his right to trial and if found guilty…ba bye.

Societal contract tells us, YOU the perp, have given notice on society that you cannot peacefully live among US no mo.

So pick, in addition to your meal, the means and methods of your own death, I will give you at least that much.

  2. There was seemingly nothing in this guy’s profile that would make LEOs cautious as they approached this demented idiot’s house.
He’s probably resentful because he lost his law license. The loon decides to take it out on the innocent officers trying to serve a warrant for a warp criminal act taking place in his “perfect” world.
So heartbreaking a honorable good man got caught in the middle of a psychopath’s episode.

You come at me and mine, and I will assure that more than one would need an autopsy.
