That time when Chuck Schumer called a flight-attendant a ‘b*’tch’ – IOTW Report

That time when Chuck Schumer called a flight-attendant a ‘b*’tch’

BPR: Before Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer transformed into a #BelieveAllWomen activist who believes that anyone who questions a woman’s claims — no matter how unsubstantiated those claims might be — is a sexist and misogynist, he used to be, well, an actual sexist and misogynist.

Case in point: Guess how Schumer responded nine years ago when a U.S. Airways flight attendant politely asked him and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to discontinue their phone calls so the flight could take off. If you guessed that he made a fuss and then called her a “bitch,” you win a prize.

“Mr. Schumer ended the call, but then argued that he was entitled to keep his phone on until the cabin door closed,” The New York Times reported in 2009. “When the flight attendant, whom Politico did not identify, walked away Mr. Schumer turned to Ms. Gillibrand and described the attendant as a ‘bitch.’”  read more

That definition is imprecise and misleading. “Pretending to hold beliefs” is simply lying and fraud, not necessarily hypocrisy. And everyone is unintentionally inconsistent at one time or another, but that does not in itself equal hypocrisy.

The essence of hypocrisy is something a little more specific. It entail someone judging others by a standard which they should apply equally to themselves or their friends, but they refuse to abide by it. That’s how Christ used it against the Pharisees. That is the filthiest form of hypocrisy which God has condemned as worthy of Hell.

Of course on that point, Schumer is very much a hypocrite.

But just being inconsistent on occasion does not automatically make one a hypocrite.

  3. I used to fly frequently across the US and shorter flights.

From the sounds of Schumer, I should have been accosted by several “bitch” flight attendants. I don’t recall having any such experience.

    Very kind, patient and attentive.
They had a job to do and did it well.

It takes a special person to deal with the anointed, elite, public servants who, in more cases than not, are self important, “arrogant assholes”.

  4. Just dawned on me and if someone noted this earlier I apologize but what happens when a woman accuses another woman with baseless allegations? Now that Dems dont bother with evidence who would they believe? Love to see that sh*t storm.

  5. You know that secret slush fund used to pay off victims of congressmen’s sexual assault? I’m pretty sure Chuck’s name is at the top of the list. Damn, I wish Julian Assange could get THAT file.
