  1. Unfortunately, what has been common knowledge for centuries in third-world countries around the world is now becoming known in America.

    Life is cheap.

    And getting cheaper.

  2. I am starting to reread Francis Schaeffer again in order to gain additional insight on the decline of our culture beginning with The Great Evangelical Disaster. Francis Schaeffer’s books and writings are what turned my thinking around back in the mid 80’s when I was a wannabe democrat and didn’t really know what to think.

  3. I simply do not understand the whole “let’s keep the rotting corpses around” thing…. They are funeral homes not abortion mills…. I just don’t get it.

  4. Ironically I was first introduced to Francis Schaeffer’s books when I stumbled into the Logos bookstore by the University of Wash. in the U district in Seattle in the early 80’s when my wife and I visited her older sister who was getting a degree in Oceanography at the time. I don’t think the Logos bookstore (if it’s still there) would sell anything even remotely related to Christianity today unless it was some new agey crap. It was a different time back then when ideas could still be still exchanged freely without the left beating the hell out of anyone who disagrees with them even though it was starting to change and not for the better. We could even make fun of the 2 gay guys who sat in front of us while we watched Star Wars at a theater in the U district, couldn’t do that now.

  5. Just don’t listen to Frankie Schaefer, what a reprobate, good Lord. I have a wild child lefty son (1 out of 8) but he has a good heart and knows better, but how sad to see Francis’ progeny attacking his father. Shameful

  6. I know all about Frankie Schaeffer, boy did he ever forget his fathers Godly heritage and totally went over the deep end into crazy leftism. It’s a shame but none of us know how our kids will turn out, we hope for the best and after a while my son finally figured it out for the most part. Of course getting married to a good woman and having a 2 yr. old daughter has changed him for the better, thank God.

  7. @Anon: true about Franky (FRANK now, thank you), although the books he wrote in the 80s are worth reading – “Addicted to Mediocrity” and “A Time For Anger” come to mind. Sad to see him go so far off the rails. I think the problem was that he was “behind the curtain” of a lot of things and rather than dealing with the fallenness of men he threw the baby out with the bath water.
