In today’s polarized political climate, finding a bipartisan agreement on illegal immigration becomes harder and harder. According to President Trump, he looks back to the past to see how in just a few years the minds of Democrats have changed to a more radical left position.
On Tuesday, President Trump stated he agreed with then-Senator Obama’s assessment of illegal immigration into the United States. When Barack Obama was Senator Obama, he believed those employed illegal immigrants would be breaking the law and the United States was based on a system of laws. On Twitter, President Trump said, “I agree with President Obama 100%!” and posted a video of Obama speaking his mind on illegal immigration.
According to Obama, “Those who enter the country illegally, and those who employ them, disrespect the rule of law and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law,” Obama said in the clip:
“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.” more
