Trump Promises To Support Pelosi If She Faces Revolt From Democrats

DC: President Donald Trump expressed support for Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s speakership bid as her party seized control of the House of Representatives in the 2018 presidential election.

The motive behind Trump’s laudatory message to Pelosi is unclear.

He also called her to congratulate her on her party’s victory in the elections late Tuesday evening.

The president’s offer of Republican votes for Pelosi’s speakership bid in the event she faces a revolt within her caucus is particularly noteworthy. Pelosi has long been a divisive national figure and was a major foil for the president on the campaign trail. Many House Democrats in close districts distanced themselves from Pelosi and promised not to support her bid to become the next speaker if the Democrats were to retake control of Congress.  more here

SNIP: I see him fishing with delicious bait, but will she bite? 😀

  1. @MJA; I agree. Having Occasional Cortex as speaker would remind those mindless moderate Democrats just what a mistake they made With the MSM puffing her up (although it would be like trying to inflate a flat tire that just ran over a spike strip…. twice) she may just fancy herself a candidate for 2020 (if her age permits it). She’s certain to have the “Wild in the Streets” bloc of votes going for her and set off an internecine war in the Democrat Party which would hopefully see it’s end.

  2. With her full-blown dementia on TV!! Maybe that’s his strategy for convincing people to walk away from the Democrat Party by 2020.

Wow. Picture it: the Democrats being let by two demented women into 2020: Pelosi and Hillary.

It would almost be fun to watch and see them get friggin trounced in the next election!

  3. Trump knows have a sputtering, stuttering, nonsensical, face twitching and spasming Pelosi as the face of the Dem party is a win. Plus she might forget which side she is on. She still thinks Bush is POTUS after all.

  4. President Trump is playing the Democrats at a level they will never figure out. During his conferences right now, he explained how the Democrats can be corn holed into supporting his policies much easier than RINOs like Mia Love, who lost.
Prediction, after this landmark Midterm, the Republicans will maybe learn their lesson that supporting this President is crucial for them keeping their seats.
Therefore, during President Trump’s second term, Congress will be a Republican majority.

  5. End result of last night can be summed up in 4 words:
    Democrats won.
    You lost.
The Trump economy is finished, the House will see to that by burying leftist monetary policy (taxes) in bill the Senate and Trump have no choice but to pass/sign.
Wait until we hear the spin from Nancy and the MSM on how only the rich corporations will be paying for the Medicare tax increase.
Republicans in WI did their usual, didn’t fight back, took the high road, and lost to union backed leftist shills.

  6. The fact that Pelosi wants this position indicates that she is senile. The Democrats are now in the same position as Robert Redford in “The Candidate” – now what do we do?

Although Pelosi is from San Francisco, she isn’t far left enough to satisfy the fringe left wing base of the party. But she isn’t moderate enough to appeal to more moderate Democrats. The Republican party shed a lot of its RINOs and the Dems have already killed political civility, so reaching across the aisle isn’t much of an option either. If Republicans do reach across the aisle to get things done, they will be courting only select Democrats which may likely not include the Dem leaders.

The next two years will be a lot of pressure on the Democrats. Mad Max can maybe push through articles of impeachment, but the Republicans hold the Senate and picked up seats. Objectionable legislation may pass the House, but can be torpedoed in the Senate and even the House does not have the votes to override a Presidential veto. At best, the Democrats can stall some of Trump’s agenda, but their inability to push their own agenda may be more damaging than anything.

There will be some gridlock, with in my political view is not necessarily a bad outcome because it retards the ability of the government to do further damage. I like Trump’s agenda and the way he observes the Constitutional mandates of his office, but gridlock is the next best thing.

  7. Trump spoke for 90 minutes to a nation and press rivetted to every word.

Now the old senile hag from the land of fruits, nuts, and flakes tries her senile brain at keeping up with Trump and actually does a slightly better job of looking more lucid than Barack Insane Odumbass has of late.

  9. POTUS was totally punking her. The house is dead now his investigation powers are moved to the Senate now thst he has a real majority not a RINO one. The house Dems will be left with the job of cleaning the Dem house after all the indictments come down thanks to the hatcheman Whiticker. NP should get the honorable task of being speaker during this disaster.

  10. Paint, meet corner.

All the dems have ever said is… “WE OPPOSE TRUMP ON EVERYTHING!!!”

    Trump: “I support Pelosi.”

    Dems: ” nnnNNNNNGGGGHHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!”

I hope Trump gets a board game out of this deal. I’d play that game every night.
