This recording helped keep Liberty Records afloat. The major success of Witch Doctor sold over a million copies and Liberty needed another blockbuster. The Chipmunk Song did far outselling Witch Doctor. At 74, I am in my 2nd or 3rd childhood and would prefer hearing these classics over the majority of the Christmas Crap dumped on us now.
