WaEx: Conservatives complain about government constantly. But if there’s one agency hated by people across the political spectrum, it is the Transportation Security Administration.
This agency, created in late 2001, is known by alternative acronyms such as “Thousands Standing Around,” and anyone who has flown on a busy day understands why. On every trip, one inevitably gets the perception that innumerable TSA workers are lounging in the background.
This complaint should resonate now, at a time when a government shutdown subtly threatens everyone’s ability to travel. Although both TSA and air traffic control workers are being made to work without pay, some TSA workers have already been caught staging sickouts and many are just quitting.
One cannot blame them for insisting on jobs that actually pay. It’s fundamentally unjust that the nation’s transportation system should hinge for weeks or months on thousands of people working without a paycheck.

It’ll never happen because too many unmentionables would rather see the government lose money than a company make money. What’s bad for the country is good for the gander. It’s the socialist way. The airlines themselves haven’t been nationalized because they typically lose more money than they make, just like any good form of socialism.
Since these employees are guaranteed back pay they can walk into any bank and secure a signature loan to live on for as long as the shutdown. The rest is fake news.
Txn4Evr, I was talking about that with my barber. However, the problem is that when these government workers get paid, they’re suddenly nigger rich. They don’t pay off their loan, they go further into debt.
How about we privatize anything that currently has a union, unless they want to disband the union?
No public employee should be allowed collective bargaining in the first place.
Send the TSA over to Ma Merkel. The ongoing nation-wide airport security strikers would love to see how a functioning agency works.
If I recall correctly they once were “private” back in the 70’s (hijackings to Cuba, etc.) and were so universally ineffective and hated then that they were taken over by the government.

The airlines pay already for their services when the Airlines themselves can staff those positions and save ton’s in the process….Airport Police can oversee the operation…
