Cruz Slams Senate Dems For Holding A ‘Theological Court Of Inquisition’ Over Trump Nominees

DC: Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas slammed Democrats and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker for displaying a “hostility to religious faith” Tuesday during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing vetting Neomi Rao for a seat on the D.C. Circuit Court.

Cruz’s condemnation came after Booker, a Democratic contender for president in 2020, questioned Rao on her view of homosexuality and LGBTQ Americans. Booker asked Rao if she considers gay relationships to be “immoral.”

The New Jersey senator attempted to clarify his point after Rao questioned the relevance of Booker’s line of questioning.

“I think it’s relevant if you think African American relationships are immoral,” Booker said. “Do you think gay relationships are immoral?”

“No, I do not,” Rao responded.

  1. Article 6 of the constitution prohibits a religious test for any public office. The chairman of this committee should immediately interrupt any senator who tries to do what Booker did, and stop them in their tracks. Republicans have got to stop pussy footing. This is hard ball!

  2. Ah yes, and Joni Ernst just had to take her turn at questioning Rao, using the same tactics as her sisters of resistance.

She spent her entire 5 mins chastising and lecturing Rao on “victim blaming”, because you know she’s (Ernst) been a victim of sexual assault as well. Oh yeah, just because her divorce proceedings were unsealed and leaked, now she becomes a militant hypocrite because she made the poor choice remaining in an abusive marriage.

This, after Ernst tweeted out a selfie of herself and Gillibrand at the gym that morning.

Ernst has become another turncoat. Iowans better wake up.
