Breitbart: Twenty-nine of New Mexico’s 33 Sheriffs signed a statement against a red flag law, universal background checks, and other gun controls being pushed by the state’s Democrat lawmakers.
New Mexico Democrats are also pushing gun storage laws.
CBS 7 quoted Lea County Sheriff Corey Helton saying, “You’re just taking guns out of law-abiding citizen’s hands. This is not going to affect the criminals out there. They’re going to be able to get guns and they do not follow the law.” more
If this were about fighting or preventing crime, the Sheriffs position on the matter would be important.
But it isn’t, so it isn’t.
Nullification by state and local authorities is part of how we get the Republic back.
You’d think that the dems who keep having their ass handed to them would tack back toward the middle but no, they just keep slamming into the Trump wall. Comedy gold.
NOW if we can just keep OLD mexico, out of NEW Mexico!
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo… WALL! 😀
@RickeyG – YES!!
But only on the right path. We’re still going to need an…
…Article V Convention of The States.
It’s the same story in almost every state. California has the same reaction from rural Sheriffs. Something needs to be done.
I get states rights, but if the Feds were enforcing rights guaranteed to me by the Constitution, we would not be in this mess.
Number one is proof mentally ill Liberals speak lies to influence reality. Nothing is important until it is their way, and that includes murdering babies brought through birth.
Mean while, in Nevada.

Several Washington Sheriffs, including my county are also refusing to enforce a new gun control law here. We have some pushback, but we need more.

You keep using that word.
It, clearly, does not mean what you think it means.

Oh… dear… @Jimmy… don’t be that guy.
@Bad Brad- NM is a beautiful and somewhat mystical state. It is, as you correctly opined, like CA. Santa Fe and Albabcornholio have screwed up the politics there.
