‘Mass Riots’: Democratic 2020 Candidate Warns Driverless Trucks Will Lead To ‘Outbreak Of Violence’

  • Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang predicts driverless trucks will lead to suicides and violence.
  • Yang said he thinks there’s a good chance that truck drivers will “park their trucks across the highway” and “get their guns out” to demand their jobs back.
  • Yang said he expects automated trucks to start taking shifts away from drivers within six to 10 years.

DC: The implementation of driverless trucks will lead to suicides and “an outbreak of violence,” according to Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Yang said he thinks it’s inevitable that some of America’s 3.5 million truck drivers will react violently to being replaced by driverless trucks.

“There’s going to be a lot of passion, a lot of resistance to this. Anyone who thinks truck drivers are just going to shrug and say, ‘Alright, I had a good run. I’ll just go home and figure it out’ — that’s not going to be their response,” Yang said Tuesday in an interview with podcast host Joe Rogan.  READ MORE

We already have that with muslim truck drivers, Andrew. Let’s not worry about hypotheticals just yet.

  2. I understand his point (sort of) but how many of these fringe candidates do the parties have to put up with They know they haven’t got the chance of Hillary in a Church and that they’re just trying to become shot caller in their respective parties but shouldn’t they have to raise 500,00- signatures and put a million in an escrow account that they would get back if they come second in at least two state primaries.

As far as this fellow is concerned the auto-driving truck issue will take care of itself when the first truck carrying fuel oil crashes first its computer then the truck into the family on vacation. Then the project will be deemed a failure when Sergy Brin is found hanging from a lamp post.

  3. He sure keeps his panic button handy incase of any real or percieved situation that may, or may not, follow his narative. A motto for his campaign: “It is never too soon to panic”

  4. Mr. Yang needs to be tossed out on his ying yang, this chink doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of ever coming close to being president. What’s up with up the democraps and all their worthless fringe candidates running for president? Trump 2020, democraps never.

  5. Just a note: Yang is not “Democratic”…he is a “Democrat.” There is a vast difference between the two. The Democrats of today are more likely fascist, socialist, or communist, any of which is ANTI-democratic.

    Just sayin’.

  6. Hell – I wouldn’t put it past members of his own party somehow using that tactic and then blaming it on conservatives.
Envision a commie killing some innocent truck driver, leaving him in the cab and placing a MAGA hat on his head, then remotely driving his truck into a crowd.

  7. The Simpsons predicted trucks actually being driven by a “black box” years ago. The driver was there only for show and didn’t drive the truck.

If The Simpsons predicted it, you can believe it.

  8. “..how many of these fringe candidates do the parties have to put up with…”

…speaking for myself, I want ALL the Democrats to run. The more ways they split the ACTUAL vote, the more desperate the cheating will be for the CHOSEN communist, and the more blatant it will be…and the sooner the necessary civil war can start.

Maybe Hillary will kill a few along the way, too. It’s kind of her “thing”…

“They know they haven’t got the chance of Hillary in a Church…”

…i love this turn of phrase, @scr_north, but if it’s the Vatican, Hillary actually hasa better shot at Pope than President at this point…

  9. Driverless Trucks?
Yep. Just like those kiosk things in the fast-food joints.
Oh! And those pizza and automobile “vending” type machines.
And robots in the auto factories.
    Motherless children?
    Fatherless whelps?
    Cop-less cities?
    Globaloney Warming Scam?
    Green New Deal?
    Russian Collusion?
    Chinese Trade?
    izlamic Jihad?
    The Heartbreak of Psoriasis?

Maybe if we had a written Constitution we wouldn’t need all those maggot lawyers?

Lots of things to worry about.
Thank goodness we have a Demonrat to point another out!

    izlamo delenda est …

  10. Mark my words! The greatest obstacle to driverless cars and trucks will be ghetto punks intentionally jumping in front of them to force screeching stops, for great fun, robbery and carjackings. There will also be scum killed this way by attempting to force-stop driverless cars that are not actually driverless. The new definition of suicide will be your driverless car obeying GPS to take you through Englewood or West Madison St. in Chicago.

  11. There are not going to be driverless trucks. The idea is too dangerous for many reasons. (For one, they cannot read road signs.) Like planes, partially automated-driving trucks still will require a “pilot” to be there to take over.

  12. The maximum weight across the country is 80K. That’s without a permit. The permit funds are supposed to go to road repair and maintenance to compensate for the wear and tear of excessive weight. And it goes where? The same place general road use tax paid by every owner goes.

I sincerely doubt we’ll ever see driverless trucks, but boy are these pols good at getting all spun up about hypotheticals. Wrapped around their own axles or something.

You, seem, to be implying that “driverless” vehicles are about the vehicles without drivers. Like “green” energy is about generating pollution free energy. It’s not. Never was. Never will be.

  14. Another dem nitwit. I imagine autonomous trucks running in platoons on interstates at first with human drivers taking over on side roads. It will probably take a while to progress. I drive a class a truck hauling crude oil. Not a chance in hell they will automate all those loading and unloading procedures. Oil producers won’t even grade their roads. I’m retiring soon so won’t be rioting over that. Might be sniping at libtards though. On my way to buy a new handgun by the way.😉

  15. @RosilindJ – you are stating the Federal guidelines. Only a handful of states follow those guidelines. You won’t make it a mile past Michigan’s border without being pulled over by the weighmasters in the neighboring states.

  16. What are those driverless trucks going to do in case of an avalanche on Lookout Pass from Montana into Idaho like we had on this last Wednesday night? Myself on my way back east from Missoula and lots of other drivers, both trucks and passenger cars were stuck up there for 7 and a half hrs. till they could clear I-90 and get all the vehicles off the pass. Everybody else was stopped at St. Regis, Mt. overnight until Thursday for avalanche control. I ended up with 20 + hrs. on Wed and finally got home at 1:30 AM.

  17. Are you sure you want truck drivers (who are mostly conservative) to be replaced by driverless trucks? If the guy who said this was a republican your comments would have been mostly positive. You need to check your brains, seriously.

  18. It seems to me that if you ban all unpredictable humans driving on a highway, the problem becomes simpler to solve. You can have all the driverless trucks communicating with each other wirelessly, so they don’t collide. And they can go faster than humans feel comfortable.

Maybe that’s what they have in mind.
