DC: Virginia first lady Pam Northam is under fire for allegedly handing cotton to African American students during a recent tour of the governor’s mansion, according to a report from The Washington Post.
A state employee complained that the wife of embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam reportedly handed the students cotton and asked them “if they could imagine what it must have been like to pick cotton all day.”
Leah Dozier Walker, an official in the state Department of Education, said that the incident demonstrates that the Northams have not learned from past actions.
“The Governor and Mrs. Northam have asked the residents of the Commonwealth to forgive them for their racially insensitive past actions,” Walker said. “But the actions of Mrs. Northam, just last week, do not lead me to believe that this Governor’s office has taken seriously the harm and hurt they have caused African Americans in Virginia or that they are deserving of our forgiveness.” more here
First, there isn’t sufficient information. But I am going to go out on a limb and guess that she handed cotton to all children, of a variety of ethnicities. If that is the case then those blowing the whistle are the racists.

The cotton was bad enough, but to play “hide in the wood pile”, and, “can you drink 2/5ths”, or sing “moonwalking at night in Georgia” well, that was over the top.

Virginia’s media, if it weren’t a political arm of the democrat party, could have revealed all of this to the voters prior to this debacle. But they chose not to.

I say we go one step further: elective credits for “Slave Summer Camp”. Afro American students can go to an actual democrat southern plantation and pick cotton for 12 hours a day, six days a week all summer! They can live in shacks without electricity, running water, air conditioning and of course cell phones. They can get new names like ‘Coon Henry’ and ‘That High Yellow Bitch’. And all the corn meal, lard and collards you can eat before sunup.
When they return to school in the fall, they can all share essays on there experience with the local BLM chapter and ‘knee trackers’ on the high school football team. Should be interesting for all.
The delicious irony was Pam standing next to Northam at the (elevated) podium for the press conference. The irony was that they were out of costume.
Think about how easy it would have been for the two “strangers” in the beer photo to come forward and clear Northam’s name.
