OAN-
The Trump administration is working to improve conservation efforts in regards to federal lands, while increasing public access.
Acting Interior Secretary David Bernhardt recently signed secretarial order 3373 to give Americans a bigger say in how U.S. acreage is controlled. The order pertains to the Bureau of Land Management, which oversees the sale and utilization of government grounds.
It will now be required to take into full consideration the effects of potential land sales and how it will impact the public before pursuing transactions. This is due in part to some private buyers purchasing land, which leaves only a small strip of connecting areas for hunting and fishing among other activities. MORE
OT: The corrupt prosecutor drops the case against Jussie Smolett. WTF?
Everybody should watch American Standoff, a documentary about trhe Bundy/Hammmond dust up with the BLM;

Not a big fan of stridency and I think mistakes were made on both sides, it yet again reflects the fascist like tactics of both the BLM and the FBI. The murder of Lavoy Finicum was very tragic.
Managing public lands is a tricky proposition. One side wants a total land grab where every bug is protected, and the other wants a total sell off of all lands to anyone with a permit for a toxic waste dump, strip mine or another silly theme park. As with most things, the appropriate stance is somewhere in the middle.
“This is due in part to some private buyers purchasing land, which leaves only a small strip of connecting areas for hunting and fishing among other activities.”
As I understand the Hammond issue, it was just the opposite: the Feds bought up private land (by coercion) thereby separating parcels of the Hammond ranch, then proceeded to block the Hammonds access to their own lands.
If my recollection is faulty, somebody correct me.
The problem with most activities being planned by the BLM, USFS, and the Fish and Wildlife agencies, is the “public input” process. Meetings and hearings are packed with well-organized environmental groups. The average citizen, if he even knows about these meetings, can’t attend because he/she has to work for a living. The agency (staffed with greenies) now has the cover of “public input” to proceed with what they want to do anyway, i.e. lock-up access to public lands.
I wonder why no one has sued these agencies under the ADA to allow vehicular access to public lands for the disabled.
The leftists wishing to recreate on federal lands will be limited to bombing ranges.
