WHY SHOULD THE PARTISAN SPLC BE TAX-EXEMPT? – IOTW Report

WHY SHOULD THE PARTISAN SPLC BE TAX-EXEMPT?

PLB: That is the question that Senator Tom Cotton asked today in a letter to the IRS. The Southern Poverty Law Center is an arm of the Democratic Party whose stock in trade is defamation. What tax-exempt purposes do baseless, politically-motivated smears serve? Excerpts from Senator Cotton’s letter:

Dear Commissioner Rettig,

I am writing to urge you to investigate whether the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) should retain its classification as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Recent news reports have confirmed the long-established fact that the SPLC regularly engages in defamation of its political opponents. In fact, the SPLC’s defining characteristic is to fundraise off of defamation.

This business model has paid well. The SPLC has accrued more than $500 million in assets. According to the group’s most recent financial statement, it holds $121 million offshore in non-U.S. equity funds. The SPLC uses these assets to pay its executives lavish salaries far higher than the comparable household average.

Further, CNN reported that the organization “suffers from a pervasive racist culture,” and the SPLC’s leader has “been disciplined after a prior investigation into inappropriate conduct.” The New York Times has charitably described the organization as “in turmoil” and cited employees’ claims that SPLC leadership is “complicit in decades of racial discrimination, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment and/or assault.”

Based on these reports, and in the interest of protecting taxpayer dollars from a racist and sexist slush fund devoted to defamation, I believe that the SPLC’s conduct warrants a serious and thorough investigation.

That is only the warmup.

  1. Predictions: SPLC will be a totally black organization by next year, and anyone who questions its tax-exempt status will be racist. Within three years, the SPLC will have been completely looted of its half billion dollars in assets, and it will be in bankruptcy. You’d better get while the getting is good, Senator Cotton, before they change the name to Southern Poverty Law Church.

  2. There exists a negro women’s foundation in DC that is a tax-exempt “charity” that consists solely of 5 negro women who meet once a year and divide up the spoils.
    Not a joke.
All that “tax-exempt” bullshit is just that – BULLSHIT.

Congress should not have usurped the “right” to reward friends and punish enemies through our (un-Constitutional) tax Code.

But, again, we tolerate it because … actually, I don’t know why we tolerate these abuses …

  3. We “tolerate” these abuses at the working end of a gun. The central government enforcement arms are many, well armed and happy to perpetrate evil on those willing to “stand up” against them……

  4. splc is ‘investigating’ itself, too:

“The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has hired Tina Tchen, a former Obama staffer who recently tried to intervene in the Jussie Smollett hate-crime-hoax case on the actor’s behalf, to conduct a review of workplace-harassment allegations in the wake of co-founder Morris Dees’s firing.”

    yeah, that will be objective
a corrupt self investigation of corruption.

I bet they’re eating banana peel sandwiches for lunch today, too

    1) There is no “central” government. There is only the government. Singular. Full stop. (For you bathetic “Muh constitusion!” conservatives: Why, yes. It is right there. In their — not “your” — constitution.)

    2) They are well armed. Over armed for the enforcement of the law. As the law (claims) to grant both the right of self defense, and the presumption of innocence. All that materiel is costly. Those costs (even with somebody else’s monies) are dedicated to (literally literal) over kill. For a reason. “Enforcement” of “law” can not (not merely is not, nor has not been proven — but “Do you even math, brah?” can not) be for the enforcement of any law.

    3) They are not many. Even including the putative “foreign defense” force (of which The President is The Commander in Chief), they are few. Compared to those they call enemy. Even only counting the law fully recognized citizens, they call enemy.

    4) They are not “happy” to perpetrate evil. That is their job. The job they sought out, (ostensibly) competed for, and desire to keep doing. On the (singular) government dole. People that shoot a bolt into a cow’s face are rarely “happy” to actually have to do their job. But they’d rather shoot cows in the face, than serve them at McDonald’s. That’s why they’re still “on the job”. That’s why they’re there. That’s who they are. The same with people who would rather hang lambs up on a truss, and listen to them scream, as they slit their throats, instead of just shoot a cow in the face. It’s who they are.

    5) They prefer to perpetrate evil against those that grovel before them. The job’s easier that way.

    And, finally (finally final):

    6) Those willing to “stand up” against them, will never stand “up”. Those willing to direct them at new “enemies” will gladly stand. And orate. And take their cut of the new enemies’ work. Those willing to free the government’s enemies from tyranny know that is best accomplished from a prone position. (If one can not be seated out of range of the noise.)
