Large Spring Storm to Hammer Much of US With Snow, Winds, and Flooding

ET- Amid rising temperatures across the United States, the Midwest might see another taste of winter.

A so-called “bomb cyclone” is forecast to hit the north-central Plain States and Upper Midwest, according to weather forecasters.

“A rapidly intensifying major winter storm to bring heavy snows through the Northern Rockies, heavy snows and blizzard conditions to portions of the Northern/Central Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley Tuesday through Thursday,” the National Weather Service warned on April 8.

Potentially damaging winds could also slam the Southwest, Great Basin, and the Central and Southern Plains, said government forecasters.

According to the NWS’s Weather Prediction Center, there is a “high potential for significant snowfall and strong winds” and possible blizzard conditions from the “north-central Plains into the Upper Great Lakes during the latter half of the week.”’

According to CBS News, as of Monday night, the storm system is currently located in the Pacific Northwest and is moving towards the Rocky Mountains before it dumps snow on Colorado and Wyoming on Tuesday.  read more

  1. “bomb cyclone”…love it. So glad the Weather NPCs have stopped trying to use a Spanish word for every odd gust of wind that blows across the fruited plain. I guess “derecho” was their Waterloo.

  2. Take heart people! In 12 years time, a barfly retard like EhOyC is going to have singlehandedly changed the weather so we all don’t die boiling to death or be forever frozen solid in ice.

  3. It was 82 in Key West Yesterday…Local Radio “Meteorologist”

said it was 95…. I was swinging a 16 LB Sledgehammer all day, I

wouldn’t have been doing that in 95 Degree heat.

And it reminded Me of why I never listen to

    them anymore…(f*ckers)

  4. Haha! People freaking out that it might snow after having temps in the 70’s.

    It’s only April 9th!

It was exactly a year ago to the day I started laying a pad for my cave/shop/barn.

The building was delivered (unassembled) 3 weeks later. It snowed the day it was delivered.
