Democratic presidential contender Pete Buttigieg has joined the ranks of “make America great again” doubters, telling supporters in South Carolina Monday that America “was never as great as advertised.”

Instead, the South Bend, Indiana, mayor suggested that “so many of the solutions are going to come from the communities, like the one where I grew up, which is an industrial Midwest city, which is exactly the kind of city that our current president targeted with a message saying that we can find greatness just by stopping the clock and turning it back and making America great again.”

Buttigieg argued that Trump’s message has never been advisable nor feasible “when that past that he is promising to return us to was never as great as advertised, especially for marginalized Americans. And there’s no going back anyway.”  more here

    In any case he doesn’t like his country the way

    mr. butt reminds me of the stereotyped male driver who is lost and won’t use a map or ask for directions. He just wants to keep going, if even in the wrong direction, and possibly running out of gas.
    America has been great, and it is great. There is none greater. Lets keep it that way!

  17. My Understanding is that in Trump’s America you don’t need a human feces map to walk down the street. However, where leftist have fundamentally changed America, a buttigieg map is a necessity.

    Pampered little snotnose only child of two academics who has been told all his life that he’s special and has been plotting since high school what to do next for his future prez run resume. Plot plot calculate plot, mummy and daddy use their contacts to help him run for mayor of a town for which he’s done nothing. Plot plot plot. That includes his belated military service where he pulled down his mayoral pay as well as military pay when he unexpectedly got yanked to Kabul for 6 months where he peed in his pants every time he had to drive somewhere. And then returned and “came out” etc. The entire package is so contrived. Yick.

  20. All these people who talk about how bad our country is and always has been, politicians and others as well ……………. Why don’t they escape from it and move somewhere else?

    Our borders are pretty porous and poorly guarded, they should be able to get out if they are determined enough to put out the effort.

  21. Rush nailed it today in saying that the left only wants misery in the present. Look at the past – it was horrible, and the future is dark and catastrophic. Even the present is full of turmoil.

    You are not allowed to enjoy yourself, joke or have simple fun – like going on a picnic and eating fried chicken, or celebrating the 4th of July. They have to lecture folks that they should feel guilt and shame all the time.

    The Puritans were less clenched than today’s crop of leftoids.

  24. As a resident of a city a few miles to the east of “Mayor Pete”, we’re doing just fine. Unemployment is low – below the country’s average – and people are moving here from all over. What’s wrong with “his” part of America?

    Also, someone tell the teeming millions of immigrants trying to get here that this place sucks. They seem to have missed the memo for the past 150 years.
