MeToo Powerless? CBS is defending season 4 of courtroom drama ‘Bull’ despite sexual misconduct accusations

Godfather Politics: CBS is defending its move to award courtroom drama Bull a fourth season despite the fact that series star, Michael Weatherly, has been accused of sexual misconduct.

Actress Eliza Dushku accused Weatherly of making unwanted comments about her appearance and made rape jokes when she was filming season two.

Dushku was gearing up to become a series regular but according to her, she was written out of the show after she complained about Weatherly.

The actress most remembered for her work in Buffy The Vampire Slayer won a $9.5 million settlement over her accusations.

“First and foremost, what we found was Michael made a mistake in his comments. He owned that mistake. He was apologetic at the time,” CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said.

“When we were looking at a decision and what to do with Bull, what happened was something that a lot of us didn’t know about. So, when it came time to make a decision, we wanted to look at it through a fresh lens and new eyes. We wanted to reassess and look at what happened,” Kahl added.

CBS added that they felt that Weatherly has properly apologized for the incident and that they see no reason to allow him to continue with the series.  more here

  1. Defending Michael Weatherly, Tony Dinozzo,,, what a no-talent POS. Stopped watching NCIS when he thought it was a ‘good idea’ to cast Robert Wagner as his Dad,, (Natalie Wood, gulb, glub) on Naval Criminal Investigative Service, great idea, irony?
Will never forget his casting of Raymond J. Barry (Arlo Givens) as a lead love role in ‘The Making of ‘Charlie Valentine’: Behind the Scenes with Michael Weatherly (2009)’
    What a stinker that was,,,

  2. Eh. Whatever. He was as a jerk, he didn’t touch her and stare down her shirt right?
So no assault no loss of job. You shouldn’t be fired for being an asshole.

  3. Supposedly happened with Whedon on ‘Buffy” too. Wonder why she didn’t make a big deal about it then?
    Too early in her career?
    Not a big enough payoff?

People talk shit at work – some people make a big deal about it, but talk is not sexual assault.

  4. When this first came out everybody here was on his side because she over-reacted and took stuff out of context. She just wanted a big payday. Could you at least be consistent.
